For today’s project I used the last two rectangle coasters I have and made an altered notebook. Instead of using just paper, I used ribbon to embellish the front cover. I also used an embossed foil piece on the right hand side.
*****
I really love the way the finished project looks. The paper is DCSW double sided papers, in green.
*****
The pen is an RSVP type pen and has a piece of the patterned paper rolled up inside to give it the coordinating look.

Blog candy is still on, so please leave me those wonderful comments. Check out the side bar for dates. If you are reading this via feed blitz or you follow my blog, please click on the title to go to the blog for all the fun stuff!

I should be able to shoot and publish a new video tutorial for you guys this week. My only problem is trying to decide which project to video!
The stamps are from Pink Gem designs. Click here for their web sight. Even though the company is based in the United Kingdom, my stamps took a bit over 10 days to arrive.

I am sorry for no post in the last few days, but between some much needed cleaning and laundry, I’ve not felt my best. I woke up with a cold sore on Saturday my poor mouth. I bet I haven’t suffered with one of these for 20+ years.

For those of you who are asking, Craig still has not been re-classed. He was able to go in and do a new ‘wish list’ of jobs he would like. One of the jobs would land him at tech school close to home. He probably won’t know what is decided until next week.

I love stamping school, Linda Heller’s great tutorials click here for her web sight. I also have her icon at the very bottom of the blog. If you are receiving this via feed blitz email, please click on the title of today’s post and go directly to the blog for full information. One of her tutorials, that she just filmed are the instructions to the two cards you see above. One is for Ms. Vivian, I’m her senior angel and the other is for my Divine secret sister.

Just a reminder, I still have blog candy up for grabs. If you put a link on your blog to my candy your name goes in the hat an additional five times. I just love when you guys visit and leave nice comments and suggestions are always appreciated as well.

I hope you guys will fly your American Flags with pride over the holiday weekend!

Among the many things I love to do, I love to learn new things. I belong to a technique junkies sight and recently have joined Stamp TV with Gina K. It is a fabulous web sight with amazing video tutorials and easy to follow instructions.

There are groups so you can find other local stampers/scrap Booker’s and just have a really nice time. This week Gina K. shows us how to emboss plain simple aluminum foil. I am pleased with my first tries using this material. Even though it is thin, I found it to emboss easily in my Big Shot Express machine. It only took seconds to emboss the metal and maybe five minutes to complete the card. I a debating the ribbon, I think a sheer black ribbon would compliment the card more.

The other project (the one of the top of the blog) is a rectangle coaster that I altered. As you can see it holds a note pad, which I will stamp small flowers on some of the pages and I took the time to find a matching glaze pen which is attached to the notebook with ribbon. Of course, I had to add my signature butterfly!

Don’t forget blog candy. If you have questions let me know. I am enjoying the wonderful comments and emails from everyone!
Hello Stampers! ***** This is a sugar Nellie’s stamp and I really like her. I used shades of pink and apricot for the card and copic markers to color the image. The card is also embellished with stickles! ***** Because of the detail of the image, The scallop piece that holds the pretty prima flower is a spellbinders label die cut from rose card stock. ***** For those of you who are kind enough to ask and email questions for me, I am doing fine. After the long week of laundry issues (see yesterday’s post for details) I am finally caught up with at least this chore. The remainder of the housework will get finished up tomorrow. I am determined to get a little stamping in this afternoon. ***** Don’t forget about the blog candy! Rules on yesterday’s post as well. Be sure if you are getting my blog update via feed blitz to click the link and come directly to the blog, there you can see the archives, videos, and more tutorials. ***** I know I’ve promised a video, but simply have not had time to get one done. Hopefully that will get cured in the next weeks. ***** I hope you are all in good health and doing well. Stamp happy! ***** Many blessings,
I have been a bad blogger this last week! I am so sorry!

OK, want the story? Its kinda long, funny and worth the read
*****
It all started on a very rainy day here in Maryland. We had gotten nearly 3″ of rain in the last 72 hours. I was bored. I had finished up my housework and felt unmotivated.
*****
So, I wandered upstairs and found some more laundry. Uum, better get this done (yes I do talk to myself at times) so I start the laundry. Go to put the clothes in my dryer and ker-plunk, its dead. This couldn’t have come at a worse time.
*****
I called my hubby and told him the situation. Being the “handy” guy that he is, I decided to “allow” him to look at the dryer. How much worse than dead could he make it any how? So, he did take a look and said, well you know that new dryer you want, well looks like you need a new one.
****
I really wanted the fancy dancy ones, but not in our budget at present. So we opted to buy a re-furbished set from a local guy. He came in the pouring rain and took the old set and delivered the new ones. Super quiet and super nice, super inexpensive.
*****
Four days later, I’m finally almost caught up. I see the light at the bottom of the laundry pile.

The top picture is my son and his friends at the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. We had a wonderful field trip yesterday. I think these people are seriously slicing into my social calendar!
