Slow down take a deep breath and try not to kill the kid. I bet you have already guessed at to what is going to come next. Craig. Darn kid.

He actually passed the last test of tech school. Notice I mentioned passed. After re-taking the test he only scored a 72.

As of today, he did not graduate with his class yesterday. The current chain of command is considering re-classifying him. There is a small chance (I think less than a snow ball in heck) that he can re-test one more time. I highly doubt it. I think the kid needs to clean a few stinky toilets and have a little bit of misery so he can wake up and put his nose to the grind stone.

OK, enough venting. Onto today’s exciting SUPER Surprise. Remember, if you are getting this blog update through feed blitz, it is a REALLY good idea to click on the link so you go directly to the blog. On the right side you will see my blog mascot and under her picture are two pictures of blog candy. In that picture hidden from sight is the last blog candy surprise.

***** It is $20.00 in cash! Yup, $20.00 for you to spend however you would like. With the economy being so yucky I thought I would stimulate your creativity by adding the money to the pot!

You can expect a video tutorial tomorrow. I’ll be shooting it this afternoon, so I hope you will enjoy it!
Hello stampers! ***** ***** I hope you are all enjoying a beautiful day no matter your location on our beautiful earth. Speaking of earth, Happy Earth Day! ***** *****
Just a quick post before getting some house work done, I made two more corner book marks and a small matching note pad for my projects today. I would really love to make up a bunch of stuff and sell it at a craft fair. It has been my goal for some time now, but just hasn’t seen any fruit. I think it is time. ***** *****
On a side note, please keep Craig in your prayers, he takes his test over again on Monday and should graduate on Tuesday and be home Wednesday. I am biting my nails in anticipation. ***** *****
First of all, I’d like to explain today’s title. I am beginning today’s blog post at 2:45 pm. It is bright and sunny outside and the temps are in the middle 70 degree range. A far cry from the colder temps we have had in the last few weeks. I am so thankful to see the Sun shine!

When Chad (the smart middle school kid) comes home from school, it will either be a very sad day or a very happy day. You see it is report card day! He has over all been doing very well this year. He *finally* shared some of his graded papers with me last night and over all his grades on those papers were good. I am hoping for another honor roll report card to come home with him today.

If you are wondering, I do hold my children to high standards. When I was growing up, it was kinda left to the kid to study and do homework. I was not really encouraged to greatness. I refuse to raise my kids that way. I feel that it my duty (and honor) as a mom to encourage, push and ultimately mold these young people of mine to greatness.

I will be posting a post script to the bottom once Chad comes home from school.

Today I worked on these beautiful altered post-it holders for a swap on split coast. I used the pink pirouette paper from Stamping up, my bind it all machine with pink binding wires. I do not remember where I found the little bug stamp but it felt springy. I covered two 4″ coasters with the designer paper. I also used the Spellbinders nestabilities for the two labels on top of the front cover. Of course, I added a bit of glitter.

For those of you who are asking about Craig. His final test is Monday, April 27,2009, hopefully he won’t mess up again and he will graduate on Tuesday and possibly fly home on Wednesday. Please pray for him. He is a bit nervous after failing the test previously. He is looking forward to a weekend with class mates and doing some mini-golf.

Now to sit and wait — the word is . . . . He did it!!!!! Go Chad!
Here is my first attempts at the corner book marks. I found a great step by step tutorial here.

I found the tutorial on Splitcoast stampers, but the first one I viewed used a 6X6″ card stock and it seemed to have too much waste, the second was 3X3″ but her scoring measurement was incorrect.

With the third time being the charm I tried the 3X3″ card stock and was successful at getting it folded and punched. I am trying to find new ideas for the project to add a bit of flair without too much bulk. I can so see selling these at a craft fair along with other fun ideas, such as matching them to a card as a gift!

Today has been hectic. The trip my DH thought was tomorrow turned out to be today. Between getting his laundry done, and having the new home appraisal done, I have been running since 6:30, and I wonder why I am so tired?!

I hope you all have a great night and hope you will try and make one of these for yourselves!
My new big shot expressions arrived on my door step yesterday afternoon. I took it out of the box and was using it in minutes. Where has this been my whole life? It is so great! You push a button and you’re done! On a side note, if you are not a current big shot user, you’ll need some practice. This machine DOES NOT come with the multipurpose platform, I suggest purchasing one. It comes with an expressions platform (not the same at all).

Yesterday I choose to make a journal for one of Mike’s co-workers wife. She was delightful. Their kids are on spring break this week so we had them and another co-worker over for BBQ last night. Mike out did himself. We had ribs and chicken. The best BBQ beans you could ever want, potato salad and all the other fixings you can imagine.
