This little 4# sweet puppy is 12 weeks old and is very smart!! I am going to have to breakdown and buy a puppy gate for the hallway. She has figured out if you jump on the hamper you can jump to freedom. Oh my.
I have been working on my July/August swaps and things are moving along. I hope to have them totally complete and postal by mid month. I don’t work fast folks, I just have more time during the day and early evening to work on projects. Which is a joy I assure you.
If you have any questions about the swaps or projects in the video, let me know.
Night two much better than night one. We fussed about 5 minutes and settled into our play pen for the night. She slept until 6:00 . We got up went potty and got some breakfast, played a while and snoozed until 8:00 then we where up for the day.
She already likes to sneak off and get into the crate for a much needed nap. a nap in her terms is 10 or less… then she is ready to “GO”!
SO my new girl needed “new” clothes. I purchased some small premie baby onsies, and cut off the crotch area… saving that material for who knows what… anyway, then I sewed in a hem. For those who really know me, I don’t sew. My sewing machine is about 7-10 years old and it is mostly in good shape. For what ever reason, it is now after a few outfits.. sewing backwards. Once again I took that as a sign from the Lord to give it up for the day.
Things with Mike’s work situation continue to be back and fourth. Please keep us in your prayers and we are just trying to do the best thing for our family and future. We have a forever home for us and these beautiful puppies some where…. The Lord knows where it is.. he’ll show us in his due time.
Speaking of due time, I’m having a great time with some craft projects. I just keep my trash can really close and check around for wayward scraps of paper, clips or anything else that could become puppy fotter. After my last round of making things for my Senior Angel and Chemo Angel assignments, I need to tidy up my desk. I will be able to show you the projects I am making for these assignments, but will not be mentioning their names for privacy concerns.
For my Chemo Angel, I made a never ending card. I didn’t take pictures. It was one of those projects I kinda wish I hadn’t started. It took much longer than I anticipated. I kept getting interrupted. It did turn out very cute and worked great!
I hope you are staying warm and enjoying some pool time and some cool air conditioning.
The little clip board is made from a rectangle shaped coaster I got at a restaurant while eating out. I covered it with decorative paper from My minds eye I love the fact that this 6X6″ paper pad is double sided making the options for using it diverse. I simply covered the coasters with the paper, distressed the edges, stamped a sentiment and the owl onto shrink plastic and finished it off with the office clip and post it pad. The entire project took less than 5 minutes.
Push Pin swap is still open, I need at least 3 more players please. Pass the word.
I actually started my search for a baby about 3 weeks ago. I found a few. But some people wanted a small fortune for a little fur ball.
Mike and I had already decided that we would name our newest addition Isabella, but now for her middle name. We considered Amelia and Abigail. Then in a flash of brilliance, which we all know my husband is, he really wanted it simple and Mae it is.
She will have her first appointment with our vet tomorrow.
A few key things as an owner of a geriatric dog I had totally forgotten about.
An 8 week old puppy will find every scrap of crap you missed with the vacuum. They are also fond of dryer sheets and like to pull your curtain panels down with their razor sharp teeth.
She has an even temperament and so far we haven’t had any unexpected issues. She piddled in the laundry room, easy enough to clean up it’s concrete.
We tried a short leash walk. Made it two blocks. She has had a harness and it will take some getting used too.
Snickers old man is adjusting very slowly. He kinda growls at her and she belly “commando” crawls toward him tail just a going. I look forward to many happy years with our precious new addition.
On a side note, please pass the word about my swap for push pins/thumb tacks. See the video on youtube.
This is my original idea if you decide to give this a try, please give me credit. I own the copy right.
This is a swap that is open for sign ups from June 21 until July 15, 2013. Swaps need to be in my hands by August 15, 2013.
Swaps need to be packaged as follows: Four sets of Three push pins. Mail in a nice package with enough postage to return it to you. My address is on the side bar of the blog.
Please leave me a comment here on the blog, youtube or my email Ms.Rhetta@gmail.com if you wish to join. I will update the list.
Above show cases a few more ideas besides the one shown on my youtube channel. I used shrink plastic butterflies, and steam punk type of items to make these. The base of these pins are clear and have been colored with copic markers.
On the solid pieces, the small onesie dies, puzzle pieces are colored and once attached to the pin, first I coated the undersides with Crystal lacquer and these where allowed to drive overnight.
The next morning, I coated the tops sides with the crystal lacquer and in this picture some of the pieces are still slightly wet. All of the top pieces on the push pins are attached with E6000 purchased from the craft store.
Please join me for this fun swap! I look forward to hearing from you!
