I hope you will enjoy the video tutorial of how I made this adorable cow themed card for an upcoming swap on Face Book.
For this card you will need:
My favorite things pink card stock cut to A2 size (5 1/2 X 4 1/4″) folded. You will also need patterned papers of your choosing.
The black and white panel measures 4″ X 5 1/4″. The other two layers, hounds tooth and brown and white polka dots are cut from the nesting stitched rectangle dies sold by My favorite things stamps. The bolsters are from Judy Morrow.
The cow is stamped onto copic quality express-it card stock using memento tuxedo black ink and colored with copic markers. This image is small and did not require much blending. Take your time. The devil is in the details with this card.
The focal image is by Penny Black and it is entitled “Swooning cow”. I think he is just adorable. He is attached toward the center of the card front using an action wobble. Since the brown polka dot panel is textured, I attached the wobble using some glossy accents.
The sentiment is stamped onto a small stitched rectangle piece of express-it card stock using memento tuxedo black ink and colored with R24 copic marker, then attached to the inside of the card. Please take the time to finish your card by making some adorable packaging. It is like icing on a cake.
This project was fun to make and I hope you will give a card such as this a try! If you do, please share your creations with me. Don’t forget to share this post and video on your social media sites.
This card uses stamps and dies from Your Next Stamp, Stamps of Life and dies from Accucut. The card stock for today’s paper is from My Favorite Things stamps and the patterned paper is by My minds eye.
The card measures 5 1/2″ square. The main layer piece is 5 1/4″ square. The sun was cut from an accucut die and then accented with some airbrushing using copic markers.
All of the images on this card are from Your Next Stamp. I stamped the images onto copic quality expres it card stock and colored them with copic markers. I used small mini sequins.
This card is for one of the many swaps that an be found on swap-bot. I hope you have enjoyed this card and will share this post and video on your social media. Stamp Happy and be a blessing!
I have for some time held to the belief that things do not necessarily have to serve the purpose for which they where intended.
Take this make up storage organizer. I purchased it for approximately $10.00 from Wal-mart. I had previously been using a small cigar box to house my stamp pads, a few trimmer blades and the like. It seemed to be more in the way than anything.
For one thing it had a lid, making it hard to open if you didn’t have a free hand. This little organizer doesn’t have a lid. It does have two handles and plenty of small compartments for things you may use regularly.
It is clear, so you are able to clearly see what you have inside. This make up storage unit was with the shelving and over toilet bathroom shelving units. I have also seen the same type thing in other big box stores in both the cosmetics department as well as the bathroom sections. So do not discount what you may find in unexpected places in the stores you often frequent.
Let me see what type storage you have on your desk for frequently used items.
As with many things in life when you are creating the finishing touches make a difference. I have participated in numerous swaps throughout the years. Some good and some so bad that the items I received back went from my desk to the trash.
You do not have to be a seasoned swapper to take a few extra minutes to “dress up” your items. These swaps had toppers made simply out of 3″ X 5 3/4″ scraps of card stock, folded in half then decorated.
When you make the extra effort to do this the results are not only stunning. They show that you care.
The same holds true when you are stamping cards as a gift. The packaging does not need to be elaborate. It just (once again) needs to reflect your care.
Sprinkle those packages with love my friends! Stamp Happy and be a blessing!
