Oh ladies and gentlemen. My new copic markers are officially out of the box and onto paper! WOW. How nice are these.
I used the My favorite things stamp set “sisters and chocolate”. I used the 100 pound 150 brightness hammermill paper. The image was stamped with Graphite Black Ink and heat set before coloring.
I do love the possibilities of the markers. I like the color saturation and the blender pen is awesome. You can find out more about the markers here.
I hope you don’t mind the wild colors of the example, but it was truly ‘play time’ with the new markers. I am just so impressed.
I’d love to earn a copic certification! That would just be too much fun!
Blog candy, you will (so far) receive the box purse from the earlier post. Now that purse will be filled with goodies, I’m not going to give them all away, but there will be stamped cards, a chocolate bar (dark or special dark of your choice — wrapped of course). I will also include a butterfly pin!
How do you like my new blog look? Ain’t it grand! I’m really enjoying it. Now if I can only get a handle of getting the watermark where it belongs. Trial and error baby!
As I master my copic’s I’ll post more on them and how I feel the colors work together.
Thanks for visiting, see you tomorrow. More Proverbs 31 woman on Thrusday as well!
The copic markers arrived today while I was at Bible Study. My son Craig (ladies he is 19, good looking and single) signed for the package.
I opened it and am oohing and ahhhing over the great colors. I can’t wait to try them out! Which once I finish posting this entry will happen tonight!
I’m doing a round of devine secret sisters on split coast stampers, I am having an awesome round, both my big and little sisters are awesome. I just love receiving great goodies and sending them out as well.
I need to vacuum tomorrow. Hey I’m taking volunteers if any one out there is interested…. Just kidding (well maybe not so much…) I hate vacuuming. I’d rather scrub toilest than vacuum or go to the commissary (it is the military equalivant of a grocery store).
I bought the new ‘a clean houes is a sign of a lazy stamper’ from Hanna stamps a while back, I need to make a card or plaque for my craft area.
My mom enjoyed her birthday and was very surprised to receive flowers. I am glad she had a great day!

Today my mother is celebrating her 73rd birthday! Yeah Mom! Don’t worry I sent her separate Mother’s day and Birthday gifts!
For mother’s day it was all handmade , a few cards, a butterfly pin, some book marks and a few pices of candy. She loved it. For her birthday, I sent a seprate card and had the local florest to send her some flowers to her home this morning.
With the start of blog candy, as you know I will enclose one of the purses on a previous post. My first blog candy offering will be a clear set of stamps from Stampedous, called SC063, Retro Border.
Leave comments any where on the blog, between now and June 15th. If you have won blog candy in the last 4 months you will not be eligible to win again for 4 months. Also, no candy outside the U.S. due to the increases in postal costs. I am still waiting for some of my overseas buddies I will send you a card.
A short Proverbs 31 lesson: Verse 20. She extends her hand to the poor,And she stretches out her hands to the needy. She is compassionate and generous. She helps provide for those who can not otherwise provide for themselves. She is alot like my mom, busy in the kitchen making biscuits for our Rainbow Girl fellowships, or providing for girls who would otherwise not have appropriate clothing for our meetings.
She is not afraid to reach out and touch, her compassion shows not only in her actions but on her face which glows with the love of Christ.
As you can see my blog is channging. If you want to know ‘how’d you do that’. I didn’t. Please email MaryDawn at: MyPinkMexico@gmail.com. Let her know ‘Loretta’ sent you. She is awesome. She walks you through everything and then takes off and sets stuff up. Her prices are VERY reasonable considering every thing you’ll get for the money. If that isn’t enough, she even accepts PayPal .
This is Beate’s weekend Sketch challenge #47 (Aka WSC47). You may find her challenge on her blog here.
It is a very simple recipe. I embossed green galore paper (From stampin up) with my cuttlebug paisley embossing folder. I then used my nesties and cut out the two ovals. The stamp is “flower girl” and sentiment are both from ‘A muse’ stamps.
The card base is Apricot Appeal, and the bottom layer under the ribbon is regal rose. I slightly distressed it using my sanding tool.
Happy Mother’s Day! Mine has been awesome. Last night my sweet hubby and the boys treated me to dinner at one of my favorite resturants. If you are ever in the Washington, DC area or vacinity you should check them out. Here is their websight! It is a bit pricy but I promice you get what you pay for with the quality of the food and service.
I will be doing more proverbs 31 woman on Tuesday. So stay tuned! Reminder; Blog candy starts again tomorrow!

Don’t you just love the Cuddle Bug embossing folders? I used the swirl one along with some Sparkle N Sprinkle Stamps to make this card.
If you would like a current list of the Sparkle N Sprinkle, Stampin up and other (mounted and unmounted) stamps I am selling, please email me at ms.rhetta@verizon.net. Keep in mind I will ship all items via US priority mail and that postage prices will be going up on Monday May 12. Which happens to be my Mother’s birthday and the first day blog candy will start.
I am offering great prices, so check back, its a first come – first serve kinda deal.
I jumped in today! I bought some Copic Markers. This company (after doing alot of research) has them at the best price! I am also selling off my Marvy markers (like new, very inky) for .25 cents each. If you want to know what I’m selling — email me! (I am compiling a word doc with all the details so I can send it out when ever I need it). This company (oozak) has free shipping on orders of over $25.00 as well. I sprang for the express shipping since I kinda have to have them NOW!
I finally (after like two months) opened up and used my Scor-Pal. My review — I love it. It is pretty handy, does a great job with the score lines and I love doing the 3-D projects. They have a special forum on splitcoast stampers and you can view it by clicking here. So many great ideas and projects. So little time! If you decide to buy one, spring for the beautiful teal case, it is so nice since you can put some paper in the case and carry your scor-pal!
Remember at current I am a ‘homeless’ designer. If you know of a company (or represent one) looking for designers, I’m your girl!
Ok, todays Proverbs 31 woman lesson: Today we will talk about The woman and her Devotion as a home maker.
I know most of you are like me and don’t like the term ‘housewife’. I know I don’t like that term at all. We married great men who are providing for us and our children, who earn a good living so that we can stay home and tend to the important stuff. I am Mike’s wife, and the caretaker of my home and family.
Today we will look at verses 13-19 of Proverbs 31. Here are the verses.
13. She looks for wool and flax and works with her hands in delight.
works joyfully. She must have been a stamper! Delight in what ever work the Lord givesyou to do.
14. She is like merchant ships; She brings her food from afar.
goes extra mile to get choicest goods. Are you a picky shopper, searching for only the best for your family? It is really a Pay it forward principal. By providing good nutrition for our families we are providing for a healthier future.
15. She rises also while it is still night and gives food to her household and portions to her maidens. She is disiplined. Even though I’m spoiled for the most part my sweet husband awakens early in the morning and gets up with the 13 year old and makes sure he is provided for including breakfast and his morning medications. I have no problem with his help, I treasure this time. It is a great time for him to have with Chad alone. I also want you to notice that the Proverbs 31 woman is not a one woman show, she had maidservants (like house keepers and nanny’s) helping her out. She knew how to properly manage a household.
16. She considers a field and buys it; From her earnings she plants a vineyard.
enterprising, prudent with money. I have to admitt, I’m the spender among us, my sweet husband is not only the provider but the deligent one who tracks stocks, investments and money issues. I do well to pay the bills and balance the check book. We do not own land, however we have a small garden I love to tend to and provide fresh things for our family.
17. She girds herself with strength and makes her arms strong. She is not lazy. Her strength often comes from self disipline, and devotion to the Lord first and family second. In other words she embrasses life with an energetic attitude.
18. She senses that her gain is good; Her lamp does not go out at night.
good steward To be a good steward means you plan and communicate. You make the most of what you are given and you are always ‘on call’ so to speak.
19. She stretches out her hands to the distaff, and her hands grasp the spindle. This is a very basic principle. Give to others and do to others as you will have them do unto you. The Golden Rule. She is not afraid of giving a hug to some one in need, or taking a meal to a needy family. She isn’t afraid of work. She welcomes it and also enjoys the opportunity to serve others.
My two cents: (I swear I don’t have too much more than that in my purse — again) With all areas of life, give the Lord both prayer requests (state your needs wants and desires) and your sin (all the stuff you can’t handle, don’t understand and don’t necessarily agree with) The trick here is to lay it at the feet of Jesus. Walk away. Don’t go back and look for it. Leave it there. Christ is more than capable of holding our deepest desires and forgiving our deepest sins. Allow him to do so.
Today’s Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father,
I come to you with many wants and desires, you truly know my heart. Allow me to learn and grow in you so that I become a become of Christ. May my heart’s light shine in a world full of darkness. May you use me in what ever ways you would have me serve. Bless those who are in my life and I thankyou for my Michael. My earthly provider and your servant. In Jesus Name…Amen!
That’s it for today! Stay tuned for more Proverbs 31 woman!
