Here in Laurel, our community pool opened for the first time. I took advantage of the mild weather and spent a couple of hours in the sun. Unfortunately the cloud cover made it a bit chilly for a swim suite.
I wish I’d taken my camera. My youngest son, Chad jumped right into that ice cold water. The look of utter pain and cold on his face was priceless. His poor little lips even tinged purple!
Tomorrow I’ll have to take that darn camera with me. I don’t want to miss another chance at that ‘face’.
My sweet husband finally got HOA (Home owners association) permission to start a new planting bed in our front yard. He was hoping to start it while the weather was still cool. At least today hasn’t been so warm to keep him from his work. It looks so nice!
The ‘puppy bottom’ picture was taken a couple of years ago. These two little shih tzu puppies went to their new home together and are doing well to this day. Our home was blessed to have these sweet souls as part of our lives. I thought the picture would also bring a smile to your face!
Blog candy update will come next Tuesday or Wednesday. So keep those comments coming. Remember you can post your comment any where on my blog. I hope you willl enjoy all the neat stuff I’ve got going on!
I still need players for the black and white swap. Please email me if you are interested!
Hey if you want some neat blog candy, check out this sight!
Happy Stamping,
Just more proof, you can stamp onto just about anything. I found this small canvas bag at Michaels, it came in a 2 pack. I stamped the bunny (sparkle n sprinkle) using staz on black. I colored her in with fabric paint pens. To finish it up I coverd it with washable fixative. I’ve used this little delight alot and she still looks good as new!
It is indeed Friday! I hope every one is enjoying the beginning of memorial day weekend. Our family does not have any special plans. I’m sure we’ll enjoy the opening day of our community pool as well as hoping every one has a safe and happy holiday.
Today I didn’t get much in the way of stamping done. I did however get a trip to Ikea and bought a console table for the basement hallway. It is painted white with a glass top, I put some of the last swaps I received under the glass along with some collected sea shells and stamps to display. On the most bottom shelf, I put a lighted plant some stamps and other 3D items to display. I’m just thrilled with my purchase!
I will be hosting a Vacation Theme swap. I will be setting up a poll and whom ever wins will get $25.00 in CASH. Yupper, you read that one right. So check my blog news of this and the details will be posted the week of June 1. If I only get one card it will win by default, so start planning get the ideas going and check back!
If you participated in any or all of the last set of swaps I am hosting, you will be getting a partial swap back in the mail this week. Please refer to the letter in the swaps to answer any of your questions.
I still have openings in the Black and White Swap. They are due in my hands June 6. Please email me if you are planning to play at ms.rhetta@verizon.net. Make 6 cards get 6 back, full cards, no fronts. You can use any stamps/embellishments/etc., please make sure it is more than one layer. Do your best work. Something you will be proud of! They need to be placed in a zip type baggie for protection and the envelope needs to contain a SASE with the same postage you mailed it with plus an extra stamp. If I don’t use the stamp I’ll return it to you. No stamp/no envelope — no return of the swap.
Once again my pick for best blog is Angie’s blog. This week she is offering a video tutorial on pocket cards. They are adorable. I can see this project being used for all kinds of things. She has a truly amazing gallery of video’s and projects. I hope you will enjoy her stuff!
I wish I could tell you that I am having a super-terrific totoally awesome day. But, I’m not.
Before I get into the ‘umm what’s up’ part, here is a picture of the current blog candy.
As you can (or can’t) see, there is a cute box purse, 4 cards and 5 envies, Inkadinka do, “Happy Birthday” stamps, Stampedous “Retro border”, a hoodie money or gift card holder and a butterfly pin.
Also, I know if you are waiting for the first set of swaps, I am a bit behind and should be getting them out this weekend. The girl card is part of the blog candy package.
The recipe is very simple, all stamps are from Amuse stamps. Cut pink card base so finished it measures 5 1/2 X 4 1/4″, apply distressed green layer that measures 5 1/4″ X 4″, Stamp girl onto white card stock that measures 2X2, layer onto gree piece that measures 2 1/4X2 1/4″, flower band measures 4″ X 1 incehs. Using the SU punches, I punched one layer in light pink and one in green, then stmaped the ‘hello’ in lavender ink. I also embellished with buttons. It is a very simple card but I think a very nice one!
Onto the ‘drama’. My oldest son is 19 years old and should be completing his first year of community college like — now. He failed two classes this semester. He has now been given notice he is to find another place to live by June 8. His other option is to figure out how to complete his two year degree in two years. There are a lot of decisions to make and your prayers are appreciated!
Kid has been given every opportunity. His only job was to be a good student. Its kinda sad, since he is such a sweet young man.
Mike is fixing a nice barbe que meal for tonight, we’ll have his kids over and of course the four of us. It smells so good her ya’ll let me tell you, the whole neighborhood smells like bbq! Yumm -0!
I am so sorry I haven’t been able to post for a few days. Life here is a bit hectic.
I am dealing with a very strong willed mommy bird who decided to sneak into our bathroom vent and successfully start rearing (we think) three babies. This morning those babies apparently are starting to move around and we thought we possibly had one in the vent fan. My husband and I dawned our gloves and ‘checked things out’ thankfully the little ones apparently are big enough to scamper, ’cause that is just what they did.
To ‘prevent’ diaster, we’ve now taped over the vent fan switch until mommy bird completes her mission of raising these babies. Then we’ll clean out the blasted vent, and seal it up with some mesh or something she can’t break through.
Today is a play date! My bff Barb is coming over, I always enjoy her company.
No addition to blog candy today, but I promice there will be some ‘tasty’ treats included with this batch.
The picture above is of a waterfall card I did back in Feburary. I just love cards that ‘do’ something!
Please continue to read my blog and leave comments!
One more thing, LINDA, was my last blog candy winner, and very graciously sent me a beautiful thank you card in the mail. It was so very thoughtful of you and I enjoyed receiving (and using) it! Thank you again for your thoughtfulness!
I am so sorry I missed a blog date yesterday. I enjoyed my ‘work day’ my husband and I had been ‘discussing’ the state of our laundry room. It had started to become a catch all. Folks, let me tell you my sweetheart is retired Army, and yupper you guessed it that wasn’t gonna fly.
I have to admitt just an hour or so into our ‘adventures in laundry’, I was very pleased with how everything is coming together, I actually have a ‘system’ for the overflow pantry items and cleaning supplies/materials. Not to mention my seasonal items are together. I can actually find stuff! WOO hoo!
Here is the latest in blog candy offering, it is a set of clear stamps from Inkadinkado it is item #97529 Humorous Birthday.
Today I did have a friend stop by for some stamping time. It is always nice to have people over.
I am selling off some Sparkle N sprinkle stamp sets and singletons, as well as some stampin Up sets, please email me at ms.rhetta@verizon.net to receive a list of what I have. Prices do not include shipping, but I do accept paypal.
Today’s challenges to get a little house work have gone well. I hope to get more done tomorrow.
