It is Sunday evening and my feet ache! I worked all day at the Rams Vs. Redskins football game!
I got to help out at a Lemonade stand, it is hard work, you not only have to make the darn lemonade but you have to keep supply up with demand. There was alot of demand!
This volunteer day gave funds to my husband’s former unit to raise funds for their Christmas party. (Which trust me on this one is a blast every year).
Sorry I don’t have any photos to post tonight, I haven’t gotten any stamping done as of yet. I will be doing some major housework and laundry tomorrow. I figure I have earned some stamping time! Besides I have a bunch of 50% off Michael’s coupons that really *need* to be used!
I have mentioned before the “Send Me” foundation that helps solidgers who have been injured or hurt or have retired and find themselves in difficult situations. I am still trying to find their websight so you contribute time and money if you so feel the need. I have personally seen some outstanding things happen because of this organization.
In most recent times, the foundation along with First Baptist Church of Laurel have been assisting Louise Rosa-Valentine. He was injured in an IED attack in Iraq. He has lost both legs below the knee, one arm, the hearing in both ears and his taste. Currrently (as of our last week about a week ago) he was doing physical therapy to get ready for prostetic limbs as well as he will be getting a hearing aide and hearing implant surgery.
The organization along with the Church have begun renovations to make his home handi-cap accessible. He also just learned he and his girlfriend are expecting their second child!
His positive spirit and faith in the Lord are just fantastic, he does live here in the local area (about 5 miles from our home) and there will be continuing need. It is a blessing to know this young man. If you are local, his story appears in the Gazette newspaper!
I hope every one will pray for this family and the great need.
Here is a new on line stamping community I recently found, click here!
If you are truly looking for a community of wonderful people to stamp and chat with, this is the group for you!
The galleries and challenges are manyfun things and it is filled with the nicest of people! The group does not tolerate any back biting or ugliness, which is more than I can say for SCS.
I will be leaving that thread in January after I have completed my current obligations on the boards/threads. I will no longer tolerate the back stabbing and allegations made by some members of this group. As my husband once stated ‘you can’t fix stupid’.
The pictures above are of my Christmas and Thanksgiving Cards, I love the way both turned out. The cornucopia image is colored with copic markers and embellished with glitter. The ribbon is a scrap I received as part of a thank you hostess package.
Ok, onto other stuff. I am starting blog candy today!
We’ll start with a wood mounted stamp. Isn’t this pretty!

Today it was so refreshing to once again have our home opened up and let the beautiful breeze come through the house. In spite of the fact I have still got this lingering cold, I cleaned out my closet and drug the under bed storage boxes out and ‘changed’ out the season’s clothing. It felt so good to get everything re-organized and to be able to try things on. Unfortunately now my ‘fat’ clothes are a little well, tight. I’m going to need to purchase a pair of kaki pants. Mike (my Dear Husband) and I are volunteering at a football game in Baltimore on Sunday, apparently there is a dress code. I’ll be working the lemonade stand and he will be selling beer in the stands. Pray for us both! It should be alot of fun. Most of the proceeds go to the ‘Send Me’ foundation. I will blog more about this organization and how you can help hurt and sick solidgers and their families.
Thanks to random.org the winner of the blog candy is:

Brenda please email me at ms.rhetta@verizon.net with your mailing information, I’ll try to make the post this week (I’m not feeling well, so no promices). Congratulations! I hope you will enjoy all of the goodies.
Blog candy will begin again on Thrusday of this week, provided I’m feeling a bit better!
Today, I haven’t done any stamping. I hope to sit down and get something accomplished though. Its sad seeing my craft area light off!
The card is made using the tutorial I posted on the butterflies, I applied it to different papers and finished it off with a ribbon and sentiment.
It is a beautiful day here in Laurel, Maryland. The weather is clear and sunny with a beautiful breeze. Our family home has all of the windows and doors open and the breeze is just so refreshing.
I was able to attend the York, Pennsylvania Heirloom Rubber Stamp expo. It was such a nice time! I went with Jeanne and Barb (Jeanne is in Green, Barb in the blue sweater) i’m in Pink and (I will correct this entry later) I can’t think of the other lady’s name is at this second!
Now onto the few changes that have been made in the craft area. You may recall that there was a large oak desk that has now been replaced by what used to be my craft desk. The craft desk now serves as my computer desk and a place where the kids can do homework.
The new work desk is much taller than the old one, I picked up the pretty floral curtain for $5.00 at Wal-mart, the two side lace panels are left over from another house, the main panel is held in place with a tension rod, the two side panels are held in place with industrial strength Velcrow!
My area is small and a bit cluttered, but believe it or not, I am very well organized. Most of my supplies are hidden (you’ve seen the cabinets in a past post, but to remind you they are full of labeled drawers containing stamps, materials and alterables!).
I love my space, it is bright and cheerful. I have everything within easy reach!
Now to add the last prize to the Blog candy (are you ready) it is a sizzix XL die called a French Fry Box!
You will need to own a Big Shot or Big Kick machine from Sizzix and a pair of extended XL cutting pads to use the die, here is a picture of the die (all dolled up) that I copied directly from the Sixxix web sight! It is a very nice die and I am sure you will enjoy having it as much as I enjoy my die!
I hope everyone will have a great day. Rejoice in the Lord, for this is the day HE has made!
These cute coasters and cards are going out with the Splitcoast Stampers Birthday Random Act of Kindness this week! They all came out so adorable. These images where all received as part of an image swap I participated in several months back. Image swaps are so much fun. You don’t have to stamp, but you can color and come up with some neat things!
I used copic markers to do the coloring and I also used alot of stickles and primas! Adorable. I love these quick and nice projects.
I enjoyed my day so much! Hey I’m 43 years old (soon to be 44) and finally have come to the point in my life that if someone doesn’t like me, I just don’t care. Its’ that person’s loss not mine. (I know, crazy, but I finally *get* it)!
I got to sleep in and my DH took me out for lunch at my favorite resturant, Hunan Rose! The food and service are always great. We both ordered the combo meals that come with soup, man I’m starting to get hungry now, think I need to get my left overs from the fridge!
I’m hoping to get the ‘new improved’ craft area pictures taken this weekend. I’m suffering from a horrible acne breakout, which is probally brought on from stress, but I’m hoping that I can get enough conceler to cover it up. (or is that really spakle)? Gone are the days I could put on some lip gloss and mascara and conquer the world. These days it is a 7 step cleansing/moisturing process followed by spakle, foundation and mineral powder. How sad is that!
For all of you that are sending emails, I will be glad to email you my calendar template, but I found another source for mini calendars that fit the standard chip board coasters better — and they aren’t at all expensive! Please click here for the websight!
They also have alot of other neat stuff to alter and stamp on!
I’ll be gone most of the day tomorrow, heading to York, PA for the Heirloom Show. I’m going with another local lady and am really looking forward to the trip! I am not sure if I’ll post tomorrow, but I’ll catch you all up on Sunday. I will post one more item of blog candy, and if you have the new Big Shot machine, you’re gonna love this one!
Blog candy will be drawn Monday! Have a happy and safe weekend!
