I am currently working on a “mini” bar so that you can come and refill your markers here in my home!
As for my blog “re-do”, Please click here for Mary Dawn’s blog. She has done several re-designs for me through the years and her prices are both reasonable and she is so FUN to work with.
As a Reminder blog candy until December 15, will be drawn on December 16. I will be adding more as we go along (AS LONG AS YOU GUYS LEAVE LOTS OF COMMENTS AND PUT MY BLINKY ON YOUR SIDE BAR).
Have a great day, I’m planning to get my stamp area straightened out and do some stamping today.
Christmas Toppers, Jr. Legal Pad Project, with a Video Tutorial!
Happy Saturday!
Today’s tutorial features digital stamps from Digital Delights Stamps. Click here for their websight and ordering information.
If the video does not play or is fuzzy or partially cut off, please view it on YouTube by clicking here.
A few things. These Jr. Legal pads are not always true to size, by that I mean that they may measure smaller or larger than the measurements given on the package. Measure your legal pad and adjust the measurements accordingly.
All stamps are from Digital Delights, I used scraps of patterned paper to complete the project. Please note, I use industrial strength pop dots, and red-liner (strong) tape. Also, glitter glue is inexpensive and the results are just as wonderful as those embellished using stickles.
You can prepare the materials in advance and make a bunch in a short amount of time. If you have any questins, please contact me at: Ms.Rhetta@gmail.com
Don’t forget, later tonight, the Video tutorial on how to make an “over the top” fold Jr. Legal Pad cover will debut. I hope you will enjoy it!
I wanted to take a couple of portfolio style pictures of the Lara The Lady Bug project as well as today’s mega project which is an altered large clipboard for a private paper arts student of mine. She like bright colors especially yellow. I thought this clipboard would be a nice touch. It will have a small (also) altered Jr. Legal Pad to go along with the set. If I can find an RSVP pen, I’ll alter that and include it as a set.

All Images are digital and are available to purchase here at Digital Delights stamps. I actually started this blog post about 3:00 pm and it is now 4:35pm, EST, Why has it taken so long for such a short post, I forgot to put the watermark on the images, it is kinda sad to think that you have to put a “copy right” on your work to keep it from being stolen. Remember my work is not for publication, sale unless otherwise noted.
Wanna read a funny “lorettaism”? Well, Last evening I was busy with my Big Shot Express *trying* to cut some shapes for the clipboard. When “it” happened.
I was trying to cut a scalloped nestie circle, and had the sandwich “perfect”, and decided to use a piece of scrap card stock on the top of the “stack” and run it through when the gears came to a halt and the paper along with the embossing mat (which was barely peaking out) both got “eaten”.
So I unplug my baby, say a few “choice” words and continue on my quest to unplug the machine. Me (not being one for directions) started at my contraption with the small screwdriver attached to the bottom of the machine, when my husband (remember him, the handy handsome one?) said the famous words “do you need help”. No, I’ve got it, Its just a “minor jam” (yeah right).
So, handsome and handy hands me a “many” screwdriver and I proceed on my mission. Did you know that those tan embossing folders are very well, flexible. I cut, I preyed, I took apart and after more than two hours, finally got it loose. Picture this, by this time there are 2 dozen tiny screws, washers and the like on my desk, just waiting to be put together.
Then, I tested my baby and she was working fine, I re-assembled the screws, parts and put the machine back on the table where it “lives”. When I replaced my machine, I found the “instructions” for fixing such a problem, all I really had to do was undo ONE (that’s right One) screw, turn the gears and “unwedge” what ever was caught. Next time, (I hope there is never a next time) I’ll know exactly where the instructions are and save my poor machine from the humiliation of being “woman” handled in such a way!
I hope you enjoyed my story, I also hope that if you have any type of electronic or manual die cutting machine that you will READ THE DIRECTIONS before trying this for yourself.
Have a great night, stamp happy enjoy tonight’s later post!
Blog candy from November 10- December 15 in honor of my 46th birthday. Drawing will be December 16. Please post a tidbit to your blog. COMING SOON, I’ll have a blog blinky you can grab so you can more easily post my information to your own blog!
I so WANTED to show you a picture of the Angel Singing from Digital Delights stamps earlier, but she didn’t get released until the 8th, so here she is!
I had such a wonderful time coloring this image, Buy the Image from Digital Delights, and I printed her off, on the page that gives you the option to print her out 9 times. She is the perfect size for cards, tags, etc. Leaving enough white space for nesties as well.
She is covering a Jr. Legal Pad (video tutorial on how to make the one that just goes over the top of the pad on Saturday) and I colored her with copic markers, and glitter glue. The layers are sponged with green ink and embellished with pink pearls attached using crystal lacquer.
I am working on a Thanksgiving project for my senior Angel, Ms. Vivian. Please visit the blog tomorrow for those pictures.
Have a great Veteran’s day! Thanks for those of you who have served our country with honor, duty and pride.
I am so thrilled to have my Copic Certification! I have wanted to earn this since 2007 when I first “discovered” these fantastic markers. I learned so much, our patient instructors, Colleen and Beate made the class awesome.
It was fast moving, lots of information to absorb and a wonderful class-work book to use. I’m still reviewing that and enjoying the awesome tips!
I used Lara the ladybug from Delightful Digital Stamps. I colored her with copic markers and used pop dots to 3-d her wings, glitter and a simple card-like sketch for the cover of this Jr. Legal Pad. Please tune in Saturday for a video tutorial of how to make a Jr. Legal Pad cover, it will not be a full cover like this one, but they are easy to make. They just take a bit of planning and the project is very worth it!
I hope you are all having an awesome week, mine has certainly gotten off to a wonderful start!
