SAN DIEGO!

Oh my, what is with “that” face?!

You see the road to hell is often paved with good intentions. This trip was not short of that. We had a GREAT Time in San Diego! I kept missing out on the “Stamp Addict” it was so close to the hotel where we were staying I could have walked.

With our sight seeing schedule on track I just never made it during business hours. With my step daughter expecting, I am sure that I will have a chance in the future. At least that is my hope.

I just got plain tickled over this one. I was getting ready to take a picture of Chad when Mike took one of me taking a picture of him. Isn’t he a handsome dickens? We had so much fun. Chad really loved doing Sea World and then San Diego zoo. It was long days with lots of walking and the pregnant one outlasted me. Geez. I have no doubts now why it is taking so long to loose this last 20 + Pounds.

In spite of eating bunches of Calorie rich food, I am happy to report my weight didn’t change but by a pound, so 166 # is decent considering how much and how often I was stuffing something into my face.

On a side note, I would like to encourage those who have been bullied in some respect or see some one who is being bullied to step up and stop it. I had the pleasure of doing this in regard to a small disabled child while we were gone. I had about a dozen people walk up to me later and say “Thanks” in defence of this little one that was being bullied/teased. It isn’t worth it. You need to be the better and bigger person. You are just making yourself look bad when you don’t stand up. Do what Jesus would do.

Missed flight + Late post!

This image is Virgo. One of the many great stamps available at Queen Kat. She is not what I had intended to thave a brand new post for Monday. However, we as a family is stuck in Sandiego CA. My post is at home on my personal computer. SO, until I can get to it later this week I wanted to at least get you guys to go do some shoppoing.

Stamp Happy!

Beginner series #2 — heat embossing!

For today’s project you will need

1. Anti static bag

2. Versa mark ink

3. Stamps

4. Card stock

5. Heat tool

6. Embossing powder/your choice of color

Use the anti static bag over the area of card stock you are going to emboss. Place stamp onto versa mark ink. Ink stamp and stamp onto card stock.

Using black detail (for the project above) sprinkle powder onto image. Using a heat embossing tool go over the image until the powder is melted. Use caution as you do not want to burn the paper.

Using the Stampin up punch that matches the owl above, punch out the image. Add google eyes and set aside.

Using the my minds eye paper, cut basic ATC to 2 1/2″ X 3 1/2″ from black card stock. Cut the patterned paper to 2 1/4″ X 3 1/4″ and layer as shown.

Attach the owl using dimensional dots as shown. Stamp sentiment (magenta) onto white card stock using versa mark ink. Sprinkle on the black powder and heat emboss as shown in the video. Great easy beginner project with lots of a wow factor.

Artist Trading Cards measure 3 1/2 ” X 2 1/2″. They are fun to create and trade. There are as many different styles of cars as there are people. In my video I show you step by step how to make a Trading card from beginning to end.

Queen Kat — new date and time!

Clockwork Owl by Hazel Fisher

Hello my crafty friends!

I created the card above using the Clockwork owl by Hazel Fisher. I must admit at first I couldn’t see the potential of this stamp offered by Queen Kat. The stamp will be available on her fantastic web site.

I took a couple of months off to re-group following some personal family problems that emerged. We are all doing well and by the grace of God we will be better because of our current situation.

I am so happy to be part of such a wonderful Design team. The stamps are whimsical and offer themselves to a variety of uses. The owl reminded me of vigilance. A word we don’t see often these days.

Webster’s offers this definition: vig·i·lance /ˈvɪdʒələns/ Show Spelled[vij-uh-luhns]

noun
1. state or quality of being vigilant; watchfulness: Vigilance is required in the event of treachery.

In a time of economic down turn, uncertainty in the world market economy, we must be vigilant, keep watch and be aware.
