Santa Bryce and Sizzix Ornate Window box
Santa Bryce is from Digital Delights Stamps. Please click here for their web sight, and a quick reminder that Saturday’s video tutorial will actually post for us Americans tonight at 10:45, which is like early morning in our neighboring countries. I hope that you will enjoy the video.
The cute boxes are going out tomorrow as part of a ABAC (Anything but a card) swap on Splitcoast stampers, I am very excited to have these finally finished with two weeks to spare before the deadline. Miracles do happen folks!
Stay tuned, I will soon be getting an order in from Magnolia stamps, htp://mymagnolias.wordpress.com. Their images are very adorable and I enjoy there new steel ruled dies as well.
On the subject of dies, my sizzix mega order (birthday and Christmas combined from my family) will be here some where around the first of December. Stay tuned to my blog in December for some more exciting news. Let’s just say I’m squealing with delight!
Have a great Friday, enjoy the video tutorial and be sure to check out the Digital Delights web sight. There are so many adorable images to choose from for your gift giving and present making Christmas ideas.
Stamp Happy, be a blessing!
Tim Holtz on the Edge dies
Just for the fun of it, I purchased these Tim Holtz “On the Edge” dies from my local craft store, I used scraps of patterned paper and layered the paper onto light weight chip board. Once I cut them out, I sponged the edges with a chocolate ink. The lace is not old, I used a tea bag and a coffee cup, put the lace and tea bag in the cup and put into the microwave oven for about 45 seconds.
Then I allowed the lace to steep in the tea for about 3 minutes until it had partially cooled down. Then using an old tea towel (a rag to be honest) I carefully used my kitchen tongs and removed the lace from the tea. I put it on the tea towel to drain off the access and cool off. Once it was cool enough to handle I hung it over my dish drain for several hours until it was completely dry.
On a side note, do not discard the tea bag, once it was totally cool, I placed the bag in a small zip type bag (the one like jewelry makers use to keep beads in) and put it in the refrigerator, I can get several more batches of tea-died material from this tea bag. The actual tea was poured down the sink as I assure you it is not a consumable product at this point. Of course the tea cup went into the dishwasher with the remainder of our nightly dishes.
I will be doing an “old fashioned” Christmas book using some Magnolia stamps, and some of these dies from Sizzix designed by Tim Holtz. I will try to shoot a video of the process so that you can see the steps involved in the project. I also hope to shoot the famous “never ending” card (my way the one that was published in 2007) to show you this innovative card, it is really easy to do, and once you have a few basics, the rest is really easy to re-produce.
It is always a good idea when you purchase new things (especially dies) that you cut them through scrap materials several times before putting them into daily production. Each die is pre-lubricated and some of this can transfer to your project. It is well hidden in my sample ring by sponging the edges.
