Oh what a mess this is!
Since the details of how the heck my room ended up a total diaster is actually an interesting story. I could tell you about the invasion of mean elves that started to take away my last gifts or just settle for the facts are stranger than fiction version.
On June 14, 2022 I had a paraesophageal hernia repair with a toupet fundloplication. If this sounds somewhat familiar, it is. I’ve had three other similar surgeries to try and correct the hernia nd reflux.
The physicians at Vanderbilt are fabulous. The surgery was over 4 hours. My surgeon took down the previous surgeries and revisions and repaired the hernia while removing scare tissue. Recovery has not been easy.
I started coughing shortly after returning home. Two trips to my local doctor the 2nd ending in go to the ER I’ll call ahead. I wasn’t in the door when the ER staff already had an IV started running fluids and antibiotics wide open. Turned out I was in advanced Ketoacidosis a condition relate to diabetes. Fast forward 5 days of being in the ICU I contracted pnemonia. I’ve learned not to ask what could possibly happen next.
Finally able to come home, still recovering from surgery and pnemonia.
My followup surgery visit went well. I’m still on activity restrictions. No lifting over 8 pounds, no strenous sweeping and no I mean no vacuuming. What’s the number to the sanity police please.
The no strenous part is part of the reason my room looks like this. Most of this mess I can put away, however the floor in here needs a good scrub once I’m done.
Onward to the task ahead. Stamp happy and be a blessing! Until next time, in love and service
