Squigglefly Spring Butterfly — Video tutorial
April 9th is the release date for this beautiful Spring butterfly from artist Revi Devi Paat. This beautiful image is the perfect touch for the tissue holder.
Squiggle fly is also doing another artist release on this day, it is an adorable Ostrich image with his head in the sand, I will post a picture of the finished card.
Today I found this video tutorial on how to make the tissue holder. It is on Dee’s blog. I altered the box only by adding a second layer of color and sponging all of the edges.
Here are the written instructions:
Card stock base measures 11 X 4 1/4″
Score at 1/2″, 3″,4″ and 6 1/2″
Fold score lines and sponge all score lines and edges with coordinating ink.
Cut solid card stock to:
4″ X 4 1/4″ (2 pieces)
4 X 2 1/4″
4 X 3 3/4″
Sponge all edges in coordinating ink.
Cut Patterned paper to:
3 3/4″ X 4″ (2 pieces)
3 3/4″ X 2″
3 3/4″ X 1/2″
Sponge all edges in coordinating ink.
Create a template for the center oval hole by using a scrap of card stock that measures 4″ X 2 1/4,” fold in half vertically then horizontally to find the center. Using an oval punch or die, cut the center.
Line this up on the box middle and punch out. Layer papers on top of this and punch through all the layers. Using a oval punch or die, Cut the same oval from scrap paper and go over that with the oval scallop punch to create a boarder for the tissue.
Apply papers to the box as shown in the picture.
Print out and color butterflies onto white card stock. Color with copic markers, R20, R21,R000, R17,YG06. Sponge around image with yellow ink. Cut out one of the butterfly wings, color and pop dot on top.
Layer this onto a scrap of coordinating card stock. Image is from Squigglfly.com.
Front panel, I printed out “God bless you” onto white card stock and layered it onto green and white card stock, all with sponged edges.
The tissue box is farther embellished with stickles and ribbon. Please email me at Ms.Rhetta@gmail.com if you have any questions.
On a separate note, please remember the $25.00 shrink plastic butterfly contest is still in effect.
Please subscribe to my blog, you tube channel and don’t forget to leave kind comments and feed back. I used Kleenex (brand) pocket tissues for this project.
