Penny Black card swap!
These are two of the four card swaps I am doing for a Penny Black stamp swap hosted on SCS. Click on ‘swap’ to reach the thread. If you are interested in participating.
I used paper from a paper stack (purchased from the craft store) for the backgrounds of the cards. The hedgy snowman card used one of the sheets that has several different patterns already built in. I especially loved using my new Provo craft paper edging punch on the end. It reminds me of a postage stamp edge. I used a scrap of the same paper at the end.
Are you lucky enough to have seen the great new edge punches from Provo craft. They are awesome. They have a little leaver on the bottom which keeps them closed and they take up 1/3 of the room of the traditional punches. They even have a spiral binding punch (like the stampin up one, but bigger/better). You guys are gonna love them. Save those 40% off coupons!
The puffy stuff is liquid applique that I added glitter too and then heat set so it was puffy.
Before I forget, for those of you who have emailed me about where I obtained my cigar boxes, here locally most of them came from a store on Ft. Meade road (aka MD 198) there is a tobacco store in front of the target, the most expensive box was like $8.00. She has a great selection.
Another great place for the boxes is at Anne Arundel Mills in their tobacco shop. The boxes are a bit more expensive, but she has a really nice selection.
So my advise is check out your local cigar/tobacco stores, they are a great resource for these great alterable boxes.
Have a great rest of your Sunday!
Stamp happy and big hugs! Edited to add one more Penny Black stamp swap card and to change the text color. Thanks for the advise on the color combo, I agree, black is much better!
