NO LINE WATERCOLOR
In today’s post, there are two videos. I will have several more vides scheduled on YouTube over the next several weeks. Please click here to view all the video’s I have available.
I recommend using more water than I did when you are coloring your image.
The image on the left was stamped uisng the brayer technique while the one onthe right was stamped using a traditional “smoosh” method. The detail in the left is more clear than the one on the right. However both techniques are fairly easy to do.
One of the easiest panels I have colored as of late. I am just beginning on this journey of water color and feel that having really good supplies such as the Windsor and Newton Watercolors (Amazon –click)
I also enjoy the Tambi watercolor paints my son gifted me for mother’s day. In full disclosure, I am hoarding that set, as the gift as well as his thoughtfulness are appreciated. As well as his current service to our country in the US Army.
I also recommend cannon xl watercolor paper, it is available at your favorite big box retailers. I am certain there are much more expensive watercolor papers available, however I am just beginning my journey and feel it appropriate to share based upon my current use and needs.
One of the only real tips I have for you is to be patient with yourself and showyouself grace. There is no shame (just a twinge of heartache) in tossing a failed piece into the garbage. If it is more encouraging, keep it as a reminder of where you began. No one starts out as an expert. Maybe VanGough, but certainly no other artist…
