Magic Card — with Video Tutorial!
Hello every one! I wish I knew how to add music to an individual blog post!
Now I have the song from the 1970’s group “Pilot” stuck in my had. Oh, it is magic alright.
Here is the video tutorial:
Supplies:
Memento Tuxedo Black ink
Staz On Black ink
Card Stock
Pattern paper
scissors
transparency
trimmer
tape or other adhesive
Stamps
Coloring Media of choice
Card base for slider mechanism: 10 1/2″ X 4″. Top folded.
Stamp image onto both a piece of transparency and card stock that measures 3 5/8 X 5″. I used a MISTI to do this. The image on the transparency will need to be stamped using Staz On ink, while the one on the card stock needs to be stamped with Memento.
Color the image on the card stock while leaving the one on the transparency blank. I used my copic markers for this.
Tack the transparency and cardstock together and trim off 1/4″ from both sides from the top of the image to 1/2″ from the bottom. It will look basically like an upside down “T”.
Put this aside and finish the slider base. You will need to cut a slit at the top so that the main image with the transparency will slide easily upwards.
Cut a 1″ circle from scrap card stock for the pull. Place the two images on the inside of the base. Gently pull through the transparency. Just start one side and then the other.
Attach that 1″ circle at the top middle and poke a hole and attach some ribbon.
Now, you will need to cut a frame to cover up the front. I used my nesting dies. You can use what ever shape you want. Before attaching this to the front, seal down the slider mechanism by trimming down the tabs on the bottom of the image and taping 3 sides shut.
Once this is complete, simply attach the frame and decorate the front of the card. You will then put this on top of a A2 card base. In the video it took me about 45 minutes total (including numerous interruptions) to do this card. I hope you will give it a try. Please show me your work. Have a great day! Stamp Happy and be a blessing! Until Next time . . .
