Command Adhesive strips– necessity is the mother of Invention pictures from Queen’s ink
This afternoon’s cleaning binge started innocently enough. You see, I couldn’t find any thumb tacksand I needed to get stuf off my desk. Put away and the area down here in the basement tidyed up.
I still have not found a single push pin/thumb tack however, While cleaning up and sorting I found a package of the command hook adhesives.
You see these are designed to stick to the back of their hooks than go onto the wall to hold the hook and what ever yiou are holding it in place, without damaging the walls. I kept looking at these and the light bulb went off over this brunette’s head. “AHH HAA!”.. I actually exclaimed it out loud.
My thought was, if this doesn’t work I will have lost/wasted one of the backing strips, if it does work… well by golly I am onto something.
I wasn’t really particular about the command strips not being seen behind my decorative clothe’s pins, but if that bother’s you… Simply trim them to size with a sharp pair of scissors.
These small strips are not meant to hold a bunch of weight, but they hold paper’s to a wall or in my case a bulletin board just fine. Since I received these clothes pins in a swap from Tamaka, I put them to good and practicle use.
Pretty easy here folks. Take the command adhesive strip.. peel off the part that normally goes against the hook, put it on the back of the clothes pin, then peel off the to the wall part, and stick it! Ha ha… I just thought about how that sounded. I wasn’t trying to be ugly, but in this case the sentiment is very true.
Here is the slide show for you to enjoy:
So, today the mother of invention, and a mom has come up with a solution. Give it a try. It can be fun, practicle and decorative. Let me know if you give this a try! I’d really love your feedback.
Happy Father’s day to all you deserving Men. To my Michael.. a simple thank you for being there while FOUR Children have pretty much grown up. I salute you. I adore you, miss you and am so thankful for every moment of our lives together. You are so precious to me.
