Car Vlog and a cute puppy picture

Hello my friends, somewhere in today’s post is a VLOG from a car trip I took today into Huntsville, AL. I visited both Joann Fabric and Crafts as well as Michaels. Joann’s fabric was completely disappointing. I was hoping to find the new DCWV paper stacks. The paper crafting section of the store had tumbleweeds. Not a lot there for the taking. There were only a few stamps, and maybe 5-10 paper stacks. Nothing I was interested in. The good thing about this visit was that next door to the store was a Guitars and more store. Since moving to Alabama my music stand has come up missing. So have a few other items that Mike and I believe may be packed away in the garage or in a mislabeled box.

After about 3 weeks of trying to contact Totally Tiffany (which in my opinion, even though my problem is resolved) still has really bad customer service. After taking “my case” to a public forum, I was finally contacted by the staff and will be getting a full refund of the unused scraprack page inserts. I will try and do a follow up post soon. The Card, Playful standups die and coordinating stamp set was not claimed as part of a recent give away. I will be redrawing this winner soon, so please check back.

Swaps and projects — a word about bullying — and a video!!

I received several packages today containing some fun swaps and a stampin up purchase.

I hope you enjoy the video. It has been heavy on my heart lately. The issue of bullying. It is not acceptable behavior for anyone. When you think you are just ‘passing on’ news you heard, that is considered gossip.

When that gossip is told over and over the original story is totally lost, it is a form of bulling as well. It doesn’t even come close to the truth. Please I encourage you to not gossip and do not bully. Be a person of faith that you can be proud of.

December Daily and my advise to Newbie Swappers

Today’s post focus’ on Swaps, as crafter’s we often join Mini book swaps, card swaps and other swaps, after a run of what I call bad luck with swaps, I’m stepping forward to share some things with the newbie swapper so he she can have successful swaps.

If you are new to swaps in general, communication with the swap hostess is critical. He/she will be happy to help you with questions and even provide feedback on your project if you would like a second opinion.

I highly suggest before you sign up for any swap, regardless of the type, that you PLEASE go out to You tube and watch some video’s. You tube is very user friendly and key words like “mini book”, go a long way. These not only give you ideas and encouragement, they will teach you some old and new techniques to use in your project.

Do your best work, something you would be proud to receive in the mail. Think about what your swap partner would like to have, especially essential when it is a one on one swap.

If you are on a site that has threads, subscribe or follow the thread of swaps you are participating. This will keep you in the loop of any changes or of information you need to know.

I love new swappers, they keep us old timers on our toes, especially when you are enthusiastic and willing to learn.

Queen Kat, butterflies on parade

I think I must be about the luckiest girl alive! Not only do I have a great husband and family, but I get to design fun projects like this one for you guys to see, try and enjoy!

This project started with a canvase that measures 8 X 10″ . I prepared the surface by using some craft arts purple paint. I allowed this to dry for several hours.

While it was drying, I stamped the unicorn (butterflies on parade) onto white card stock and colored it with copic markers, V0000,V000,V01,V04,V05.

After I colored the image, I fussy cut around it and using a decopauge medium applied it to the canvase. The next step was hot gluing all the flower peddles into place. I used dew drops for the centers. The lace around the side and around the canvase are held in place with hot glue. The pictures you see above are toward the end of the process, and the piece is still slightly wet.

I have to allow this to completely dry and place it in “Melissa’s” box so it can go postal early week. I want her to get the package in plenty of time for her birthday.

I am so glad you are able to come and watch the video and read my blog post today!

I am enjoying some quiet time with Chad who is off from school today and tomorrow. I am hoping to be able to have lunch with my precious husband, Michael tomorrow and having Chad join us is just a treat!

Speaking of food, I’m hungry! I know thanks for sharing . . . Onto Craft related things.

The bird cage was origionally orange. I sanded it down and painted it with a blue craft paint. I even painted the light wires and cord to match. The bid is the bird with vine, cut away from the bottom and side pieces and re-layered on a fabric covered base and some paper shreds. It is embellished with some stick pins and flowers from Recollections. It is very pretty lit up and offers a small “night” light. My best friend, Barb loved the piece and it is now at home with her.

Chad is a very handsome young man and I really appreciate him taking his time to film my video’s. So, I thought I would take a few moments and tell him “thanks man” and post his handsome picture!

A couple of corrections Things are “painted” not “ink or inked”, I’m sure you’ll pick up a couple more obvious errors in communication. I had a bit of a headache when I filed this one, and unfortunately it shows.
