Happy Easter

 

 

 

Our precious neighbors invited Chad and I to attend services at their church this morning.  The service was simple.  There was a wonderful pot-luck breakfast with plenty of yummy food to enjoy.

The congregation, though small was warm and friendly,  I enjoyed both the services and the music.  It was a great day.

When Chad and I returned home we (well actually before and after church) we enjoyed seeing the “Easter” bunny prints.  It is the tradition of some of the neighborhood members to go through the neighborhood and use chalk (the same kind used in ball fields) to put bunny prints through the neighborhood.  It is so precious.

I enjoyed a long and very refreshing nap this afternoon.  I was amazed at how good I felt when I arose this afternoon.  That is when I decided to finish up the little domino book.  It is my first try at such a creation and it came out adorable.  I found some old Sunday School pamphlets from when I was little as well as some free clip art to use on the inside of my miniature creation.

 

Tomorrow is the last day of Spring break.  I’m sure Chad and I will enjoy our time together.  I need to do a bit of grocery shopping and do a few household chores.  However, it will still be an enjoyable day.  Chad is such a wonderful young man and I am very proud of him.  He did get his driver’s license a few weeks ago and we are both enjoying the freedom and responsibility that offers.  He is such a wonderful help and does help his mom for the most part with a joyful attitude and heart.

  These beautiful trees are similar to the ones that are currently close to full bloom on the tidal basin in Washington DC.  Our home is approximately 36 miles from the city limits of DC.

 

  Even with living so close to a national landmark, our nations treasure we do not visit very often.  Chad and I may take a trip tomorrow to go visit a few museums and see the beautiful cherry trees.  It is well worth the time and effort to go visit the beautiful area.

Hello Friends!

 

 

  I will always love manual die cutting, it is a passion of mine, but I must admit having an electronic machine to do things such as cutting out letters is pretty awesome!

 

  My online friend Judi has been helping me figure out the silhouette portrait.  As a thank you gift, I decided to make her a little desk secretary with her name on it.  Since she still works outside of the home, I thought she may enjoy this on her desk.

 

  The letters where cut out and sponged, I then applied the glossy accents.  Once it was completely dry, I adhered it to the piece using more glossy accents.  I really like the way it turned out.  I certainly hope she will enjoy it as well.

  Welcome every one to the Bi-monthly Blog hop hosted by Stampin Dymondz.  The theme of this months blog hop is Cards.  I made the above spring theme card for my Niece, Melissa. It is a simple card that I really like how it turned out.

 

  I used my copic markers to color the focal image, which is from My Favorite Things stamps, which if you read my blog you may know that it is one of my favorite stamp lines. 

 

  The focal image was stamped using memento black ink by Tuskineko.  The ink can be found at most major big box stores.  Once I had stamped her, I trimmed her close and matted her onto a piece of card so that there was about 1/16″ of a border.
