Currently I have a facination with junk journals. I have been keeping one as a daily journal/log since the beginning of the year. After making the first one I quickly learned that the journals needed to be monthly otherwise they would be too large.
The current journal I’m working in is the one with the lacy cover. I really love the feel of this and do not have any dilusions that the book will stay prestine. The smaller journal was made using an #EileenHull sizzix die caed the passport die. Her scoreboard dies are perfect for crafting on the fly.
A word of learning (Ok… experience is a great teacher) do not cut her dies with more than one piece of scrapbook paper and mat board and always use a crease pad. Otherwise, the pressure of your die cutting machine will cut through those score marks and make you extremely unhappy.
Since I work in my books I tend to add papers, emephera and the like while I am working in the books, making each unique and have such a character! The paper was hand made using the contents of our paper shredder. Weed out any strings and plastic before making your paper.
Making paper is a messy very textile project and well worth the effort. It has become a obsession. Stay safe, stay well!
I hope you’ve enjoyed this post! Until next time, stamp happy and be a blessing!
Beauty for ashes. This is more of an introspective post than anything else.
You see when I was growing up, my parents modeled unselfish love and service to others. My mother was often behind the scenses and many a time I knew of a gift or action she provided that no one else knew about.
During those critical teen years I was exposed to the most wonderful organization on the planet, the International Order of Rainbow for girls. As part of this organization I rose to the 3rd highest position that of Grand Charity. It was my job to be an example for girls coming up behind me. Those precious lessons resignate with my very soul even to this day .
One of the things you are taught is to serve with love. Often when I close a blog post or even a speech it is “In Love and Service”. Receiving the Heart of Hospice award just verifies what I already knew. A life of service to and for others to Glorify the Lord Jesus is a life that is well lived. I still have much to learn and much to do and in all of it I give the Lord of the heavens and of us the glory and praise.
It is my prayer you will give to others and allow the father to exchange your ashes for his beauty.
In love and service until next time…. stamp happy and be a blessing.
Here is a video presentation of the Craft cub and awards ceremony.

I’ve known since the begining of February 2021 that I would be the recipient of the Shepherds Cove Hospice
The heart of hospice award goes to one individual and one business every year. This award means a lot to me. It is hard work to put together the monthly crafts (especially during COVID) organize a diverse group of people as well as make cards for this organization.
I would be greaty amiss if I didn’t mention my partner, supporter and best friend. Michael, thank you for your love and support of my crazyness and your willingnes to work beside me and not only serve others, but more importantly to serve the Lord.
I wouldn’t change the “good busy” for anything.
When I first became part of Shepherd’s Cove Hospice, it was due in part to Wanda Van Lanen who is our neighbor and dear friend. I am honored to have her part of this evening.
Wanda shared with me a project that was being given to our patients for Christmas in 2016. I knew that we could do better. At the time there was a “team” of a few individuals who would piece together projects. Then I was told that there used to be a group that got together once a month to make projects.
Why is that not happening now? I asked. For the next 5 months the projects and gifts made for our patients were made exclusively by me with a little help now and again. Finally, there was a meeting with Anna Grace Morgan and our craft club debuted in June of 2017.
Many things have changed since. The group of people through the last nearly 4 years has changed, my personal approach to organizing and obtaining needed materials has also changed.
I am immensely proud to be this year’s recipient of the 2021 Heart of Hospice award from Shepherd’s Cove hospice. While this award recognizes my individual contributions, it is not about me. Without the support of my husband, Michael and the unselfish contribution of the time from each of you this organization would not be possible.
It remains my goal to abide by the following scripture:
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. Colossians 3:23-24 NIV”
Whatever you do—do it to the best of your ability. God does not expect you to do what you cannot do, but He does expect you to do what you can do. We should not allow ourselves to be compared to others, each of us, in his or her own way have unique gifts to share.
God asks for—your best. When we give and do our best his love and grace bless us. Thank you for being part of not only Cove Crafters but also of the end-of-life journey here at Shepherd’s Cove Hospice.
