Mini Album swap with pictures and video

Today’s project is one that comes from a very special place in my heart. There have been several occasions through the years that I have been involved with on-line swaps only to fulfill my obligation to my swap partner and receive nothing in return.

It is unfortunate when this happens. For one thing, most people do put fourth much effort and work into these beautiful swap partners. Only to be left with nothing in return. This mini-album is for a young lady involved in an online mini album fall or Halloween swap on the a little scrap of heaven web site.

After several email exchanges, she was gracious enough to accept me as her angel. That simply means I am making this for her, not because of an obligation. I am doing this from love and sincerely hope she will continue to swap and of course that she will enjoy my creation.

If you have joined a swap and find yourself unable to complete it because of some un-foreseen event, simply contact both the coordinator and your swap partner. Many times you can take extra time or graciously drop from the swap and have some one step up. It happens. Be Honest.

Mixed Media art Journal and pictures of my new Cozies!

Hello Friends!

Today’s video progress is of my brand new art journal it is a Strathmore journal I purchased from Michael’s. Today’s project incorporated numerous die cutting projects.

In the beginning of the video I used some felt for the snowman. I quickly learned that black enamel paint and felt are not a good marriage. Toward the end of the video, I remove this snowman and replace it with one die cut from card stock then embossed with a folder from Darcie’s.

It seems lately that no piece is complete if it doesn’t include shrinky dinks. The moose was a punch from EK success. The mittens are a die from Memory makers.

I recently purchased some cozies from Kathy’s cozies. I had the Accucut Craft grand mark die cutting machine. Kathy was wonderful to work with. She was faithful to email me pictures of fabric samples and told me what measurements were needed to complete the grand mark cover.

Here is a front view of the cozies. It is very well made and I know that I will certainly enjoy it for my lifetime. Since it is made of fabric, on the off chance that it gets dirty it can simply be washed.

Now for my last matter for today’s entry, As I begin a new chapter with my art journaling, I ended the 2nd journal I have completed. I did cover the front of the journal with fabric.

With only 44 days until Christmas, I am trying to get some fun Christmas tags made for my gifts. Here are a few pictures:

The larger tags are cut from medium weight chip-board and I explain in the video the basic process I used to make them. They are super easy to do, however, they are some-what time consuming.

The smaller items you see, the moose, and shrinky dinks are for another project. Please check my future blog posts for more information.

Hello my friends!

For many just the thought of Shrinky Dinks plastic brings back fond memories of childhood. I know it is hard to imagine, but personally I didn’t know about shrink dinks until I was an adult. My step daughter was watching our boys one evening while my husband and I went out. She had brought some for the boys to color and use.

That was the start of a glorious relationship. My favorite thing to do is stamp. It has been for many years. When my friend Karen was a Stampin Up demonstrator. I was instantly hooked and the rest is history.

As the years have gone by, there is little limit you can do with this material. Stamp on it, cut it out and shrink it down. It makes for wonderful embellishments.

Post it note holder with video tutorial and pictures

Hello my friends!

Today will begin the process of re-doing some video’s that I have previously done. Now that my editing skills are improved as well as my camera angel and set up. Please note, if there is a video tutorial that you would like me to do or re-do, please leave me a comment or email me.

To create this project, you can shop for the sales at your big box stores. Scrapbooking paper, inks and even post it notes go on sale frequently. Instead of using dies to decorate this piece, use some gears and sprockets from your tool box. For a more feminine approach to the project, use some flowers and other accessories.
