Your Next Stamp Mini Card Video’s and Pictures!

Today’s project is my take on the mini card presented by Your Next Stamp. There is a step by step tutorial on this project on their site. When you visit their website, just click on the “blog” section to see what fun things they have for you to enjoy! I hope to participate in their sketch challenge this week.

I used Express-it blending card stock for my die cutting and copic coloring. The images were stamped with Memento tuxedo black ink. You simply place the die just above the fold of the card stock and cut it out to make the mini card. You then stamp the image onto another piece of card stock and die cut it. After coloring, simply layer it atop the base. It is a quick and easy project. You could even use some of their smaller sentiments inside the card or just a sweet little I love you note. This is a project clearly designed to make the recipient smile.

Planner Accessory Swap

I am doing a swap with Candace Scarbough. It was my turn to choose our swap and I decided on doing some Planner Accessories. There are several of this type of swap online and I modeled this one after those.

The stamp set shown above is from My Favorite Things. I used address and shipping label’s to stamp onto.I also die cut shapes for this swap. I do plan to do more things with the package I am going to send to Candace, however, I will be saving those for her as a surprise.

Here is the video. I apologize that the video/audio are not in sync. I have recently purchased a new video camera and am unsure why the video track shows up with the media player but not the movie maker program. If you know how to remedy the problem, please feel free to let me know.

HAUL — from Your Next Stamp

Hello Friends!

Before I get into the haul I made from Your Next Stamp, I wanted to share a picture of the Valentines Day card I made for my son Chad.

Mike and I have been busy the last several weeks. He had to work in New Jersey and sadly while we were there we found out his uncle in Iowa had passed away. We made a last minute decision to fly out to the Midwest. It was great to see his family and meet some family members I had not previously had the pleasure of meeting.

When we arrived back home we had to quickly re-pack and fly out to San Diego. We had already planned this trip to go see the newest member of our family, Alice. That is 5 plane rides in less than 10 days.

I have another order from Your Next Stamp on the way. I wanted to share with you the products I just purchased, so I filmed a video. For some reason, I am not able to get the audio file on Movie Maker to play, so I just did an overview with a voice over. I hope you will enjoy it.

There are not more pictures with this post due to time constraints. I was only home for about 12 hours before hubby and I left for the funeral of his uncle in the mid-west. Also, I will be updating the blog with a video of purchases I made while in California visiting our grand babies.

There will be a separate post for the swaps that have come in and they will be swapped out soon. I am awaiting just one more swap to arrive and they will all go postal. Thank you ladies for participating in my swap.

Desk Set — Stamping for Practical and beautiful applications with a written tutorial, pictures and video.

Hello Friends!

Today’s project is just as beautiful as it is practical. Two sheets of 12″ X 12″ double sided patterned paper and a few scraps of card stock complete this project. It is easy to make.

Patterned paper is from K & Company, the card stock is from My Favorite Things Stamps. The dies are from My Favorite Things Stamps as well as Sizzix. The sentiment is from Studio G stamps.

I also used a “swiss” dots embossing folder that is from cuttlebug.

You will also need a bone folder, large paper clip, Staz On ink and other basic paper crafting supplies for this project.

For the acrylic note pad holder, I used a 4X6 photo holder and cut the paper to size. It was then sponged with dandelion ink. I then die cut the rolled roses and attached them to the front. The post it note is concealed behind a piece of patterned paper that measures 3″ by 6 1/2″. I attached it to the photo holder using score tape.

For the larger note pad portfolio, the same paper (K&Company) was used. Edges sponged with the same dandelion ink. The note pad is 5″ X 8″. Please measure your note pad as they vary by manufacture. Their is an 1/8″ edge along the cover and back of the folio to allow for easy access.

To make the pocket, just us a scrap of this paper and cut it at an angel. I attached some lace from my collection using tombo multi glue. *Loretta’s note, if you buy the glue in bulk it is cheaper and lasts a very long time*. I die cut the flower (Sizzix 657243) from yellow and dark green card stock. The petals are embossed using an embossing folder. This was then glued to the front of the folio. The sentiment was stamped and attached as shown

The paperweights were purchased from Amazon. Since they are meant for small photo’s, they are easily adapted to this type of project. Simply remove the metal backing and attach your paper or other media, and put them back together. They are made from acrylic and are nearly impossible to break. I stamped the top side of the paperweight with the Studio G stamp. These stamps can be purchased from your big box store. Since the underside of these paperweights is felt, you have no worries of them scratching other surfaces.

The last part of this set (and by no means the least) is a large paper clip book mark. I purchased my paper clips from my local Wal-mart. They are simple to make. When you are cutting the flower and stem for the portfolio, cut enough pieces so you can make the paper clip. The center of this flower was cut 6 times using a 1″ circle punch. These pieces were then layered together with glue. I also used a black bolster from Judy Morrow. To make sure these layers stayed together while the glue dried, some hot glue was applied directly over top of the clip.

All together this project was approximately 5 hours total to complete. This would also make a great gift set for a student, some one who has landed a new job and of course for those of us who are Chemo Angels, they make great buddy gifts.
