As with many things in life when you are creating the finishing touches make a difference. I have participated in numerous swaps throughout the years. Some good and some so bad that the items I received back went from my desk to the trash.
You do not have to be a seasoned swapper to take a few extra minutes to “dress up” your items. These swaps had toppers made simply out of 3″ X 5 3/4″ scraps of card stock, folded in half then decorated.
When you make the extra effort to do this the results are not only stunning. They show that you care.
The same holds true when you are stamping cards as a gift. The packaging does not need to be elaborate. It just (once again) needs to reflect your care.
Sprinkle those packages with love my friends! Stamp Happy and be a blessing!
Doesn’t seem possible. This is my ONE THOUSANDTH Post! That’s right 1,000! I did not realize this at the time I made the give away video. However, it works out just perfect.
To win this stamp give away (with some matching dies) you just need to leave a comment any where on the 1,000 blog post and any where on the YouTube channel. You need to leave those comments on all of my videos. You may enter as many times as you’d like. One comment = One entry. Eazy peazy. Give away is from 3/19/2016 and closes on 3/26/2016 . I will either draw the winner on Easter Sunday or on that following Monday! Open world wide. Just keep in mind if you are out of the US and win it may take a month for the prize to reach you.
If you are not already following me on FaceBook you may do so here for my personal page or here for the Crafting and Stamping group. There will be extra chances to win exclusively on the Crafting and Stamping group.
Share this on your social media. Facebook,Pinterest, Youtube,Instagram you name it, share it. Let me know you’ve shared it via email Ms.Rhetta@gmail.com (put give away in the subject so I know your email is not spam) and I will give you an additional entry!
Coming soon, Molly Mae. She is only 7 weeks old and needs to spend a couple more weeks with her momma. We will travel to Tennessee to pick her up in a couple of weeks. She will share Isabella’s middle name in loving memory of her. It has been 3 months and I still miss that precious fur baby.
Have a wonderful Palm Sunday weekend. Stamp Happy and be a blessing! With Love!
Hello every one! I wish I knew how to add music to an individual blog post!
Now I have the song from the 1970’s group “Pilot” stuck in my had. Oh, it is magic alright.
Here is the video tutorial:
Supplies:
Memento Tuxedo Black ink
Staz On Black ink
Card Stock
Pattern paper
scissors
transparency
trimmer
tape or other adhesive
Stamps
Coloring Media of choice
Card base for slider mechanism: 10 1/2″ X 4″. Top folded.
Stamp image onto both a piece of transparency and card stock that measures 3 5/8 X 5″. I used a MISTI to do this. The image on the transparency will need to be stamped using Staz On ink, while the one on the card stock needs to be stamped with Memento.
Color the image on the card stock while leaving the one on the transparency blank. I used my copic markers for this.
Tack the transparency and cardstock together and trim off 1/4″ from both sides from the top of the image to 1/2″ from the bottom. It will look basically like an upside down “T”.
Put this aside and finish the slider base. You will need to cut a slit at the top so that the main image with the transparency will slide easily upwards.
Cut a 1″ circle from scrap card stock for the pull. Place the two images on the inside of the base. Gently pull through the transparency. Just start one side and then the other.
Attach that 1″ circle at the top middle and poke a hole and attach some ribbon.
Now, you will need to cut a frame to cover up the front. I used my nesting dies. You can use what ever shape you want. Before attaching this to the front, seal down the slider mechanism by trimming down the tabs on the bottom of the image and taping 3 sides shut.
Once this is complete, simply attach the frame and decorate the front of the card. You will then put this on top of a A2 card base. In the video it took me about 45 minutes total (including numerous interruptions) to do this card. I hope you will give it a try. Please show me your work. Have a great day! Stamp Happy and be a blessing! Until Next time . . .
This art journal page is totally for me. Today I’m going to be lazy. I’ve finished our laundry and will soon take a much needed nap.
Maybe when I awake from my nap, I’ll have the energy to take out those dust bunnies. For this project, I used stamps from paper smooches and lawn fawn. I also used papers from graphic 45. Stay tuned for a tutorial showcasing their products soon.
Enjoy the video!
I hope you are all having a great day! Stamp Happy and be a blessing!
This fun mixed media tag is for a one-on one swap I am participating in. The tag was to be mixed media with a focal point and have some fabric as part of the design.
I used some patterned paper I already had in my stash and made the tag. Since I already had out the stamped images (already die cut) I used what
