Two pretty cards

Hello!

I am one lucky girl! My sweet Michael worked from home most of the day. However this afternoon he took a much needed break. We took Chad with us and the men got much needed haircuts while I ran to the bank.

On the way home we went to Michael’s Craft store. They had some yummy deals, the Cricut cartridges where only $44 +. I had been wanting the Calligraphy Script one for a while.

You see, I had procrastinated for a while, I finally broke down and transferred about 5 months of photos from my computer onto a CD and uploaded them to Sam’s club to be processed. Since I had a bunch of photos (approximately 275) the photos the cost to print them was .08 cents each. It took them about five days to arrive, but so worth the wait.

Now maybe I can get them into some scrapbooks! As I type this entry, I wonder how many 12 X 12″ layouts these pictures will create!

Both of the cards above are simple and elegant. The happy heart day card was really easy. I used some heart punches I purchased from my local craft store and just kinda made the card.

Pretty Blue gift set

Hi my stamping and paper crafting friends!

I hope that today has been a good one for you all! My day has been quiet, but I was able to get some much needed stamp time!

Above is a gift set I created, I still need to make the card (will post that tomorrow) but am really pleased with this set.

The blue tin (the one with a ribbon) is an altered candle, and the shiny round thing is actually an acrylic photo paper weight. They are colored with copic markers and accessorised with stickles!

I ordered a new wide angle lens for my video camera. I am hoping it will help with the issue of distance with the recording. I’m having some difficult having the camera not loose my hands in the frame. I know it may take a little time to get everything right, but I really want you guys to enjoy it!

Once the lens arrives, my hubby will be doing the taping so nothing is missed with my hands. I still want to learn to do it by myself though!

I *may* record some of my favorite hymns played by me on my beautiful violin! I really enjoy playing!

Stamped can cooler

I have filmed a video tutorial for this project, I will post it tomorrow. It looks really great, but for what ever reason the video won’t upload to the blog. I am thinking I probably have to upload to you tube first, so I’m doing more research. If you guys have any suggestions for a frustrated newbie, they would be much appreciated!

These can coolers (also known as can hugs) can be purchased from your local craft store. In the summer time, they are usually about .50 cents each.

They make great party favors! The stamp is from Sparkle N Sprinkle it is called “upside down clown”, he is also on a sheet of stamps.

To prepare the coozie, clean it with a baby wipe.

I used paint pens, sharpie and galaxy markers to color the image, being careful not to drag my hands over wet paint. After the image is colored, I went back with an ultra fine sharpie to fill in the details of the clown image. This one came out a little darker than I anticipated, but hey, no one is perfect!

When it is dry to the touch take the coozie outside and spray it with a quick light coat of poly urethane. If you don’t the paint will come off onto your hands. After about 30 minutes, recoat the coozie.

I have made dozens of these and the image will stay true for about 2 years. You can use what ever stamps you like for these fun coozies.

Hopefully I can figure out how to get the video on here this weekend!

Pretty In Pink!

Not only am I on a pink kick today, I am also on a nestie oval kick!

This beautiful birthday card was made using the following recipe:

Card base is pretty in pink card stock from Stampin’ up. It measures a standard 5 1/2 ” x 4 1/4″ folded.
White card stock that is embossed using the script embossing folder (cuttlebug) measures 5 1/4″ x 4″.
The large scalloped oval is cut out of decorative paper.
The smaller oval is sponged with the pretty in pink ink and attached to the scallop oval using pop dots. The image is stamped using markers and colored with Copic markers and embellished with stickles.
The card is finished off using dew drops and ribbon. The birthday sentiment is stamped on the inside of the card.

It is a very pretty card, and easy to make. I made ten of them today along with a second gift set for another January birthday!

Thank you for all of the cyber hugs today! I do miss my sister and wish that things had turned out differently. Life is so short, my goal is for my life to make a difference to those around me and to be a testiment of my faith in Jesus Christ.

A birthday gift

Happy New year!

Please pray for me today! I lost my only sibling, Barbara a year ago. She died on her birthday. She died as a result of acute Fentanyl poisoning.

I am enjoying some quiet down time this week. It is a ‘be kind to me’ proposition.

The beautiful cherry blossom stamp is from Rubber Stampede click here to visit their web sight.

I used my tombo markers and colored directly onto the rubber. Using my nesties, I cut the oval and scalloped oval. On the white layer I sponged the edges with Cranberry Crisp ink. Once I stamped the image I used my copic markers to color the image and stickles to embellish it.

The tin contains some chocolate nuggets!

Still working on the video blog. I have the software I need for editing and have been playing with lighting. My husband, Mike has been super supportive! I am really enjoying the new video camera.
