April 9th is the release date for this beautiful Spring butterfly from artist Revi Devi Paat. This beautiful image is the perfect touch for the tissue holder.
Squiggle fly is also doing another artist release on this day, it is an adorable Ostrich image with his head in the sand, I will post a picture of the finished card.
Today I found this video tutorial on how to make the tissue holder. It is on Dee’s blog. I altered the box only by adding a second layer of color and sponging all of the edges.
Here are the written instructions:
Card stock base measures 11 X 4 1/4″
Score at 1/2″, 3″,4″ and 6 1/2″
Fold score lines and sponge all score lines and edges with coordinating ink.
Cut solid card stock to:
4″ X 4 1/4″ (2 pieces)
4 X 2 1/4″
4 X 3 3/4″
Sponge all edges in coordinating ink.
Cut Patterned paper to:
3 3/4″ X 4″ (2 pieces)
3 3/4″ X 2″
3 3/4″ X 1/2″
Sponge all edges in coordinating ink.
Create a template for the center oval hole by using a scrap of card stock that measures 4″ X 2 1/4,” fold in half vertically then horizontally to find the center. Using an oval punch or die, cut the center.
Line this up on the box middle and punch out. Layer papers on top of this and punch through all the layers. Using a oval punch or die, Cut the same oval from scrap paper and go over that with the oval scallop punch to create a boarder for the tissue.
Apply papers to the box as shown in the picture.
Print out and color butterflies onto white card stock. Color with copic markers, R20, R21,R000, R17,YG06. Sponge around image with yellow ink. Cut out one of the butterfly wings, color and pop dot on top.
Layer this onto a scrap of coordinating card stock. Image is from Squigglfly.com.
Front panel, I printed out “God bless you” onto white card stock and layered it onto green and white card stock, all with sponged edges.
The tissue box is farther embellished with stickles and ribbon. Please email me at Ms.Rhetta@gmail.com if you have any questions.
On a separate note, please remember the $25.00 shrink plastic butterfly contest is still in effect.
Please subscribe to my blog, you tube channel and don’t forget to leave kind comments and feed back. I used Kleenex (brand) pocket tissues for this project.
For the visual learner:
If the video does not play above, please click Youtube. Have a great day. Stamp Happy and be a blessing!
This beautiful stamp is by Maigan’s stamps. Their information can be found by clicking here. This beautiful unicorn is called ‘butterfly parade’. My favorite thing about this beautiful stamp is the options it offers in the coloring. I used Pink in one example and purple in the second.
Both cards also features stick pins that I made. I have just begun the process of learning to make these beautiful pin works of art. I used some beads I received in an EBay order as well as bead caps and other accessories. To be sure things stayed together, I used hot glue.
The images are colored with Copic markers and embellished with stickles ink. The paper is from my private collection.
I hope you will go visit our Queen Kat store and purchase some great stamps for yourself. Have a great day, stamp happy!
I am basically re-doing this entire post. I chose to use a tri-pod and re-record the video. The quality of the picture is much better and nothing is really shaky or moving around to excess. I will be using this method for more video’s in the future. Now that I know how to tweak things and make them a little bit more stable. Today I went out and walked one of our dogs, Lexie for about 3 blocks. My goal is to take each dog out individually during the day for this little walk. This will help build up my endurance. My weight is starting to come down slightly and I am down to 184 #. I am also making myself drink more water. I hate water, I need flavor baby! Some of the water flavorings is helping with this. Don’t forget about the contest, in the video I clearly spell out the rules, you can post a video response by clicking here or you can email me at Ms.Rhetta@gmail.com with your entries. I will be posting pics on my blog as well as my Youtube channel. I hope you will find other uses for shrink plastic and give the 3D butterflies a try. They are so pretty on many projects and jewelry items. Let me now if you have any questions. Be sure to become a follower, leave comments here and on the Youtube channel. Remember, if you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all. Here is the video on Youtube. Have a great day, tomorrow is Queen Kat Tuesday with some beautiful projects and cards that you will be wanting to do yourself! Stamp happy, be a blessing!
I signed up on the very last day to participate in this swap. After viewing Gina’s video I couldn’t help but go and get an egg and get started!
My partner is Fred and She and I have had a wonderful time chatting back and fourth while creating our eggs. Mine features bunches of flowers, and as you can see in the video, it is just so fun. You may click here to watch the video on YouTube.
For those who asked, You can go to the bottom of my blog to turn off the music, if in general the music isn’t liked, I will be glad to remove it from the blog. So let me know (in a nice way please).
The name of this stamp is “Love never goes out of style”. How true that statement is.
I love the styling of the Whimsical Ink Sorority and this stamp by Maigan Lynn. You will find that these stamps are richly detailed and so much fun to color.
I chose to use paper from the Whimsy stack by DCWV. The card base is a light green color, and then I used the patterned hearts from this set to finish off the card.
Please go visit our store website, there are some great new products, new artists and always great stamps at great prices.
Thanks so much for all of the warm wishes for my Boy’s at the loss of their paternal Grandmother. We arrived home on Monday, March 21 late in the afternoon. It was a long drive.
