Six days and 149 cards completed. I admit I am proud of myself for accomplishing this task. I am also pleased with the final outcome of the cards. I do want say a special thank you to my husband, Michael for his love and support of my ministry and his contribution to me and our community. He has also signed all 149 of these cards.
The golden rule applies, by the way it is in the Bible, for you non-believers that is where it started in the first place. Matthew 7:12 “All things therefore whatsoever ye would that men should do unto you, even so do ye also unto them: for this is the law and the prophets.”. In modern terms, Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
Find joy in unusual ways. This time of viral infection is a doorway for the lies Satan whispers in our ears. You know the ones, those that tell us we are worthless, or cause worry needlessly. Combat these with an outloud voice and shout, “Not today Satan”! I tell you flat out, Jesus is present. He as close as your very thoughts and comforts your heart.
Remember any gift you give from your heart returns 10 fold. I am living testament of this fact. I am truly blessed and truly settled in the knowledge of the faithfulness of a mighty God. Enjoy the video slideshow…
COVID*19 a term most of us had not heard until a few weeks ago is now forefront on every news media outlet, every state, community and neighborhood. It is no different in North East Alabama.
My husband and I are about three and a half hours away from Atlanta, however we are blessed that we live in a relatively rural area. Covid*19 has indeed reached our community with even the local grocery stores and Walmart limiting how many people can be in their establishments. As usual Mike is my rock and caregiver. What many people don’t know is that I have Diabetes type 1. Which puts me at a greater risk of bad complications should I become ill with this virus.
With very few exceptions he has done the shopping and errand running for us. I am trying to not venture out unless absolutely necessary for doctors visits and the like.
Like so many others, I have a difficult time sitting idly by and doing nothing. For Christians around the world, put your armor on, its time to fight. My small part to help ease the loneliness and fear in others is to make cards for our local Nursing and Rehabilitation facility. I suggest you reach out in your community and see if there is a need where you live.
So far I’ve made an astonishing 90 cards with the goal of finishing 140 of them in the next week.
Mark 4:35-41New International Version (NIV)
Jesus Calms the Storm
35 That day when evening came, he said to his disciples, “Let us go over to the other side.”36 Leaving the crowd behind, they took him along, just as he was, in the boat. There were also other boats with him.37 A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped.38 Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?”
39 He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.
40 He said to his disciples, “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?”
41 They were terrified and asked each other, “Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!”
My dear cousin, Bill preached on these verses yesterday. Please note Bill is a quintessential country boy. The video is passionate. Jesus was where he was supposed to be. While his friends were completely freaking out, he took a nap. When things started to get worse and their fears could only be squashed by Jesus and his words that commanded calm in the middle of this mess.
Just like the storm faced by these precious people in the bible, the truth holds true now in this day of self quarantine still holds truth Depend upon him in this storm, he will provide. In his time, in his will. Remember death is not the final curtain. Jesus love to welcome us home to eternity is just the beginning.
I apologise for some of these images being sideways or upside down, it is a problem with my website provider and I was unable to fix the issue.
I hope you will enjoy these photos of the cards I have been making. I pray with each one made for those who will receive them. I pray for you that you will receive the truth of God’s Love. His love is absolute and it is enough. Stamp happy and be a blessing, until next time!
I am proud to report that I am one step closer to my craft room being more organized and manageable.
There are a few truths to be had, the first of which I am realising even more that the word “no” needs to be a bigger part of my vocabulary. I am thrilled to receive items from folks that they feel I can use, especially for the hospice craft club. Honest truth is I will graciously accept items and often if they are damaged or unusable they are trashed. If they are usable and do not fit the purpose for the club they are donated to our thrift store.
I need to make concise easy to read and understand list(s) of supplies needed for upcoming projects. Giving myself permission and a reminder that it doesn’t have to be perfect. The love of the folks I work with are the completeness and perfection far beyond what I can imagine. 2 Corinthians 4:7” However, we possess this precious treasure [the divine Light of the Gospel] in [frail, human] vessels of earth, that the grandeur and exceeding greatness of the power may be shown to be from God and not from ourselves.” Amplified bible . This verse is also translated to us being broken pots. I figure if God himself refers to us as earthen and fragile vessels yet uses us for his glory that is really what life is about.
On a side note Happy 19th Anniversary Michael. Thank you for your loving yet strong leadership in our home. Stamp happy and be a blessing! Until next time…..
