Edgar Allan Poe — some pictures!
Hello my blog fans!
Here are a few shots of the grave stones in the church yard where Edgar Allan Poe is burried. If you are ever in the Baltimore area, the cemetary is located exactly accross the street from the VA Hospital and Medical center. My husband had an appointment there today. I had decided since we where also going to visit Lexington Market, to take my camera with. I’m so glad that I did!
The day was beautiful. Not too cool, a little breezy and the cemetary is beautiful. Many markers are more than 200 years old. Just think about all those happy souls enjoying heaven now.
The markers are in wonderful condition considering their age. Some are now unreadable due to the forces of nature, but the church and cemetary are very beautiful and well kept. Please come and visit this great attraction if you ever come to Maryland.
After Mike’s appointment we visited the cememtary and then we went to the world famous Lexington Market. There are so many food vendors and other vendors there it is a pretty large and amazing place. We ate a huge crab cake, with calimary and onion rings, washed it down with a couple of beers and the lunch was so good.
I was feeling a bit tired after not sleeping well last night. (I live near Ft. meade and I hear there is something in the water). My sweet Mike struggled with his CPAP machine (continous positive airway pressure device) and got a little fed up with it and took it off around 2:00 am, I went down and slept on the coach until about 5:30, he was snoring so loudly I thought surely we’ll need to paint the ceiling. No seriously, it was that bad. Any whoo, I came home and took a nap. That sweet man of mine fixed a huge pot of wonderfully tastee smoked turkey soup with noodles. It was so good!
I think I’ve rambled enough! Stamp happpy, stay tuned for more blog candy items coming on this week!
