Felicia one of the members on Your Paper Pantry is the person who came up with the idea of altering mouse traps. You can find her you tube channel here. I hate mice and mouse traps. I will admit that I loved doing these projects.
First I disabled the mousetrap by lifting the “killing” spring and having my husband snip it close so it didn’t scratch anyone. Then I removed the trap setting wire. This left the part that kills the mouse, and the small hook on the bottom of the trap. I also took off the platform that you put the bait on.
Once this was finished it was time for some prep. I used gesso, about 3 coats on each trap to start, then I started the altering. It is not a difficult process and even a beginner could do this, I will tell you patience is a virtue as this takes time, drying times and the forever ringing phone.
