Entertaining Angel’s unaware
Hebrews 13:12
Today,I was honored to attend the wedding of two of our older Church members. The groom in his 80’s and the bride in her 70’s. It was such a wonderful celebration and reminder that at any season of our lives we can have and share love.
As things winded down A homeless woman came wondering in. Our minister and another lady from our congregation and I stayed with her and took her to lake Guntersville where we paid for a camp spot for her for a few days. Long story short the lady who was with us (herself homeless and addicted at one time) was able to talk to her, as was I. She was the perfect person to help minister to the needs of this woman. I can conjecture about her mental health and other “demons”, however, that is not my place to do. I do not sit in judgement. I only praise God for the ability to help and have those who love the Lord be willing and able to assist in this journey as well.
Hebrews 13:12 ” Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it”. It was our minister who reminded us of this fact.
I am humbled and honored that once again God put me where he wanted me to be. To have the mental and physical and let’s face it spiritual resources to stand in the gap for someone in need. There have been so many times through out the years Michael and I have paid attention to the leading of the holy spirit. How God still uses all of us, if we are willing and listen to his call on our lives to do so.
It doesn’t seem to be that much. A conversation telling her she is worthy and has worth. Providing a meal and a few dollars toward a camping ground. I came home, snuggled with our dogs and took a nap. I know she was outside in a tent in the heat and there was a storm, the true picture of how blessed I am certainly is in focus.
It is without a doubt that my fellow Christian friends presence was preordained by God the father to help this soul along its way. We three were limited by this lady’s willingness to accept any more help. My heart and prayers will continue to be lifted up.
What an honor and joy. What sadness and heavy heart. In this fallen world.
My “personal” (I use the term loosely) my day had a much different plan. Here is my favorite verse, Jeremiah 29:11-14. God’s plans. Not mine, come into focus. The simple yet elegant work of the father to give his son who gave us the holy spirit that we may spread his good news.
With love and joy, until next time
