A few fun projects !

This adorable baby girl mini book is made from the retired onesie Sizzix die. I used a simple hair band and tied the ribbons and garland onto the skirt. This acts as the closure and the book opens up. This was a gift for a friend and she probably will receive it in the mail today. I left the pages (in greens, pinks and yellows) plain for the mom to be to decorate herself. I really love how this came out.

Did I tell you that Mike and I are pleased to let you know we are getting a daughter. Michael has proposed to his girl Julie and hopefully there will be a wedding in our near future.

These Queen Kat stamps feature the art work of Maigan Lynn.

Don’t you just love the whimsical art work of this artist? She has a beautiful style and her images are so much fun to color. To order the stamps seen in the card click the name beside or beneath them.

All three of these cards are similar in nature, they all have similar colors and I used scraps from my collection to create them. Each one of these stamps does have its own sentiments to coordinate, today I decided to do them a bit differently.

Transparency 3D butterfly with a video tutorial

This project actually began as an attempt to partially re-create a butterfly that had been stamped and embossed onto blue card stock as part of a Christmas tag that I was given by my friend Karen Brand. I loved her butterfly and it was one of the first I had seen that had curled wings so it appeared to be flying.

For several weeks after this, I experimented making them 3 dimensional. My first attempts did not come out so well, but once I knew what and how I wanted it to look, the idea for the butterfly was born. The first ones where stamped onto Vellum and made into pins, now I use them in so many ways, earrings, necklaces, mini book decorations and yes I still make pins.

Tim Coffey big give entry #2 — Lots of pictures!

I will try to shoot a video tutorial for how to make the transparency butterflies this weekend. As many of you know (if you follow me on face book) my oldest son, Craig Allan is home for the weekend, we will be enjoying some family time.

I mainly used two pages of Tim Coffey papers for this project. It is bound together with binding wire and lace is tied on both the wire and end of the album. It is meant more as a book of encouragement, something for the receiver to have on their coffee table or by the bedside. It is just something pretty to uplift and encourage.

This one will be going out to my senior angel friend Ms. Vivian. I have made her a similar one in the past, but since I wanted to use this beautiful paper, I decided to make her a different floral one. I hope that the butterfly sheer ribbon is showing up in the pictures, as it is so beautiful.

Baby Elephant from Squigglefly– A name badge!

I have been thinking lately of things that have truly made a blessing in my life. When I was a younger woman and my children were still small, I always had a harder time letting them go than they had letting me go when it came to dropping them off at a nursery.

There where a few church nurseries that stand out in my memory. They always wore colorful fun name badges. The one today can easily be laminated for long term use, but it is not necessary for those times when you just need a cute name badge.

I printed out the elephant onto white card stock (folks, I have no idea where this card stock came from, but I’m going to use the rest for base purposes only it was totally not right for use with copics).

When you print out the elephant, quickly set the ink with your embossing heat gun. I do not know what the manufacturer’s of ink cartridges use, however I do now it is less likely to run or bleed if the image is heat set first.

For this sample, I used the following inks: E43, C2, E000, E51 and E42. I worked in small areas using circular motions to get the color effect that I wanted. I used a pair of sharp scissors to fussy cut the image. I used some white craft paint for the cheeks and white streaks on his feet. Wiggle eyes complete the look for a whimsical touch.

Using my die cutter, I cut out these stylish labels from Accucut, and sponged around the edges using Versa Magic Hings of pesto ink. If you don’t have a die, just free hand a shape of your choice to use on the project.

This project is a quick one to complete, and you can easily use other images from Squigglefly for this project, and make as many as you need. This would also be a great idea to substitute an image of an Angel or Gingerbread man to use as a name tag for a Christmas party. The possibilities are endless.
