I hope you like the journal pages, I am in many ways beginning a new with my life. There are and will always be many un-answered questions and in more ways that I can even imagine at this juncture in my life it is changing.
Change is good, when you embrace it with your full heart and soul. Giving all things to the Lord to let him sort them out. He sees the tears, he hears my voice and he loves me.
There is also the picture of our pekingese, Buttercup. Isn’t that a face only a mother can love? She is actually contently laying behind my work chair in front of my space heater. Very time it stops running (it has an automatic thermostatic control) she picks her head up looks at it oddly and even on occasion gives it a “what’s with you” growl. Very precious.
My birthday is December 15, this year I will turn 21. Isn’t that special? OK I’m going to be much older than 21, but I’ll never tell.
Please pray for my birth family the youngest of the girls, Samantha (who likes to be called “Tootsie”) is not expected to live past 24 hours. She has had yet another massive stroke and the Physicians are telling the family that is there to love her as it is just a matter of mere hours before she leaves to go home.
Have a wonderful weekend, go hug some one, thank your friends or neighbor’s who are there when you need them, and love your kids. Give them lots of hugs. Remind them you aren’t there to be their friend and maybe, just maybe one day they’ll appreciate that.
It is finally Friday. It has been a short seven days since last Friday when Craig was sentenced. I am in constant prayer for my oldest son.
Chad is my youngest son, at 18 like many other teens, he thinks that if he slides just a little bit that it is acceptable. He is learning a hard lesson that if you slip behind on your studies, you lose privileges and still have to get the work done. Sometimes, it just sucks to be a teenager.
Today I focused on wrapping gifts that are going to be going postal tomorrow. Most of them I have posted pictures of. I did a similar altered tag as shown above for my birth mother along with a purple themed calendar note pad holder. Since she enjoys sewing I wrapped the two smaller gifts in sewing pattern tissue paper.
When I was finished with my wrapping assignments I decided to sit down and do some art journaling. First I decided to do another snowman tag I used the winter tag for the project along with an embossing folder. Both sold by Sizzix.
Have a great weekend, enjoy the slide show and the Christmas music.
It is Christmas time. For those of you who do not follow my blog or my face book page please click here to find out details of Craig’s conviction of Child Pornography charges.
Yesterday was especially hard. I had a grocery list as long as my arm, a laundry room about filled to the ceiling with waiting laundry and that meant a work day for me.
It started fairly normally. My husband sent me five links about Craigs conviction and to read them just made me cry.
I got myself pulled together after speaking with my husband for a while on the phone and ran off to conquer the world.
I did not realise how difficult it would be to go to the Postal Exchange or the Commissary. All those men and women in Uniform. Serving our country with honor, proudly serving I might add. My heart sank. I faught back tears the entire time during my trip. I was anxious to get home and unload my groceries. It had been a while since I visited the store so it was a large shopping trip to restock.
When I finally made it home I found out my very intelligent younger son is letting his grade slip. Now I have one more hurdle to over come.
How do I react to these circumstances? Well, a little chocolate and many prayers. Both helped! I am not trying to make fun or light of the seriousness of the circumstances I find myself in the midst of in my life, but I will tell you, ALL THINGS, no matter what they are will WORK TOGETHER for HIS Glory.. not mine. The New King James version reads: “And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those
who love God and are called according to his purpose.
Please note a word in this passage that gives me comfort well, two words, “his purpose”. What a comfort to know that I can rely on my heavenly Father to provide in circumstances and battles we find ourselves in every day. It is my prayer you will trust him to bless you and provide according to his purpose.
I had tears again this afternoon. Some what selfish ones. The ones that fall because Satan wispers in your ear you could have, should have and still need to do something else, it is your fault and you should take the blame. All I have to say to that one is LIAR! Don’t listen to the lies listen to God’s truth.
I do believe that TRUTH will set you free but you must believe in God’s truth that he sent his son to die for our sins and that his blood covers and erases our sins. We will celebrate his birth this Christmas.
“CHRISTMAS AT CALVARY”
I always look forward to christmas.
Just to
be with loved ones dear to me.
To hear those song of holidays.
I believe
that I must say.
I love to spend christmas at calvary.
The most
beautiful gift was given.
When god himself, and mercy decorated ah tree.
The most beautiful light there is shining.
I love to spend christmas at
calvary.
As I look at the beautiful garland.
Wraped around the tree
everygreen.
I think of grace, so rich and true.
And life abundantly, as
I go back to that glorious scene.
Where the most beautiful gift was
given.
When god himself, and mercy decorated ah tree.
The most beautiful
light there is shining.
Oh I love to spend christmas at calvary.
It is much to warm to be December! The temperature here has been nearly 70* the last few days. Beautiful outside, I spent some time sitting out on our beautiful front porch reading a book this afternoon.
I have been steadily working on making more Christmas gifts, Chad and I put our tree up a few days ago. Here I was in the basement when I heard an odd noise followed by a “MOM COME QUICK”. Our tree had fallen. Chad had caught it but it required us to use some bricks from our garden to steady up the tree’s base. It was such a pain. We had to remove the lights and start basically from scratch. I am still not wild about the tree’s appearance, but until my patience is built back up it will have to slightly lean for now.
I have seen many trends for odd colors this Christmas season, the copper and black are a very elegant paring. I had a really nice time creating this ornament. Once again I used the Stampin up dies and I had black and copper card stock in my collection. These are super easy to make, in my opinion you wait longer for glue to set up than just about anything else.
I hope you’ll give these a try. Stamp happy be a blessing! Much love to all of you!
I hope you each had an enjoyable Thanksgiving Holiday and were able to take some time from working and just relax, enjoy family and friends and maybe even some craft time!
I have really been enjoying making these stampin up style ornaments for my family and friends. The first one up top uses the DCWV current Paper stack, the one on the bottom uses a good quality black and white card stocks, both embossed with my snowflake cuttlebug embossing folder.
The black and white one I thought would be the easiest of the two to make and it turned out to be harder. I think this was due in some part to the embossing, making the card stock hard to fold and work with.
I will try to shoot a video tutorial on my version of how to put these together soon.
