Today’s project is adorable. I purchased these mitten dies from The Stamps of Life.
To make this project, I simply cut copy paper with the smallest layering die, then the covers from the largest. I also decided to give htis a binding with some “o” wires.
Decorated one side more than another using some faux fur, ribbon, and jingle bells. What would the holidays be without jingle bells?
Be sure to keep things lined up if you decide to make this with the binding wires. I made a template with some lightweight cardstock. Then I marked my Bind-it-all machine so that each time I cut, it would be lined up each and every time.
If you do not want to cut all the paper, alternatively you may choose to use the outside pieces as shown here and attach a simple sticky note pad inside. Since the sticky notes come in different sizes, colors and shapes. I will package these along with a small ink pen to give as small gifts or random acts of kindness.
It is my hope that as you read this you will find some true inspiration and the road to faith in Christ as Lord and Savior.
“In the fullness of time, God sent forth his Son” (Gal. 4:4).”
I quickly checked email in the early evening hours of Tuesday, the 29th of August. I had received an email from a drill sergeant in my son’s AIT unit. I read the information on his upcoming AIT Graduation in Fort Eisenhower (Formerly Ft. Gordon) Georgia. Here’s some of the back story.
Talk about full circle. I grew up there. My parents are buried across the street from one of the back gates of the Augusta National Golf Course in Westover memorial Gardens. My sister is also buried there along with many dear friends.
When I met my husband he was a staff Sargent at Ft Gordon. We actually met at a Christian Singles dance on July 29, 2000. We were married about 5 months later.
We were married in the Bicentennial Chapel on 20 January 2001.
The graduation ceremony will be at that same facility. When I shared this news with my husband of nearly 23 years he had happy tears. What are the chances?! It is incredible how things come full circle. Often to remind us of humble beginnings, sometimes treacherous circumstances and how in the wisdom and fullness of time God himself reaches out to our very humanity to remind us there is a plan and purpose for our lives. (Jeremiah 29:11-14)
Not only will he be graduating from AIT he will be reporting to Fort Meade The first of October. He grew up at Fort Meade, went to Elementary, Middle and High School there.
To live life without the believe in God is nothing more than to have life and its benefits without any responsibilities or consequences. However, the innate problem with that belief is that is is simply not true. Do you doubt the existence of a higher power? God?
Just look around you. Everything did not come from nothing. If you’re a “big bang” theory. I have my thoughts on that, pretty simple too. When God created the earth .
Let’s start at the beginning, because its always a good place to start!
The Beginning Genesis 1:1-3 1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.
3 And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. 4 God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day.
When God “spoke” his voice is powerful and yet quite. I think the “big bang” was nothing less than the voice of God speaking everything into existence.
Through out my life from the very beginning my life has been securely in the hand of God. My faith as a child grew up. As I entered into my mid thirties, I came to understand and embrace true Lordship. I also learned that there is no such thing as a good person. We are all sinners. We all fall short.
When I think about the work of the Cross, the blood shed for me to have not just life, but life for eternity. The following scripture comes to mind:
“The Father sent “his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and to deal with sin, he condemned sin in the flesh” (Rom 8:3). The cross actualized the Father’s condemnation of our sinful flesh, for sin itself, “when it is fully grown, gives birth to death” (James 1:15). “The wages of sin is death” (Rom. 6:23)”
Though I have not always practiced what I preach, I do now strive more each day to be who it is Christ wants me to be.
In the upcoming days and weeks, I hope you will take a few minutes to reflect on Christ, his sacrifice for us and how from personal experience I can tell you that a life with Christ is not easy. It is worth it. His hand in your life will literally change you. Please contact me at Info@LorettaRodger.com for more information or any questions you may have. It is my prayer you will become his child.
